I dont say that they were self destructive and take credit away from the opponents who won fair and square. They tried everything whatever they could. But the opponents are way more younger than them. They could not do anything against satwik/shetty who were very fast and explosive.They self destructed in G3. Sigh....

If you want to talk stats, fine. Yesterday's match minions lost to Endo/Wata in 3 games 18-21, 21-19, 14-21, I'd say it was much closer than losing in straight sets 13-21, 20-22.
Let's see.. head to head (played match):
minions vs Endo/Wata 2-2
minions vs Han/Zhou 2-2
minions vs Li/Liu 10-2 (5 out of 12 were won by minions straight set).
minions vs Kamura/Sonoda 9-5
minions vs Boe/Mo 5-4 (minions had won 4 last encounters)
minions vs Ahsan/Hendra 8-2 (1-2 in 2015)
minions vs Ko/Shin 2-1 (2016)

Yes this discussion can go on and on until you get the facts or stats right. You may think however of Kevin and Marcus, but the fact is they are winning more than most other pairs at the moment. Lucky? Maybe. I suppose Kevin's risky play has paid off at most time.

Looking at it realistically, there is no way they should lose that match. It is fair to talk about self-destruction - because they could only be expected to lose when they're making mistakes themselves, tactical or simply on execution.
Having seen a bit of Choi/Seo at the TO there's no freaking way Korea should send them over Ko/Shin. I still think that that XD win in the Sudirman Cup final was one of the biggest flukes I've seen, a hard worker Choi may be, an elite doubles player he is not. At all.
Sadly that's never going to happen.
BKA already screwed them over once as the higher ranking and more promising pair 3 years ago. After a civil suit and being forced by the courts to allow them to play independently, there's no way in hell politics or the organisation will ever allow them to represent the country again. It's bloody petty and pathetic but that's the way it is.

all it takes is the 'perfect' timing of many factors. next thing you know ellis/landridge are wearing olympic bronze... bwahahahahaha!!
same thing goes here. that sudirman team contained korea's next wave of top players in development. low and behold kba falls apart. only wd has maintained progress. during that same time period choi sustained an injury (arm/shoulder/rotator cuff?) that kept him out for quite some time. i saw him play (up close and in person) on many occasions in 2017, pre-injury. at that point i thought he had the highest ceiling of the md/xd players in that next wave: more power, better read of the game, better all around skill set. kim won-ho, kim jae-hwan, heo kwang-hee, jeon hyeok-jin... where are they now? choi was originally chae yu-jung's xd partner. naturally someone else takes over while you're out, and it becomes permanent if you're out too long.
the 'perfect' timing of 3 factors, a) unknown seriousness & recovery condition of original injury, b) length of absence & c) kba drama, could be influencing the fate of choi sol-gyu's career. fluke? time will tell...

Still not a chance in hell. They lost too much face and their pride was hurt very badly by losing that court case that they have to stick to supporting their own association players on sheer principle.
We've all been around long enough I'm sure to understand that more often than not to know that the wrong decisions are never made for the right reasons when it comes to things like this.

Yes I'd dare to say that they will never play on Tokyo. Not because they didn't qualify. But because the rules and the organisation who plays by those rules will send their own instead.

I can only find news articles saying that KBA erased the limit age for non-national team players to compete independently in BWF sanctioned events. I suppose that doesn't include Olympics nor WC as these are not BWF's...
Correct me if I'm wrong but it is the relevant associations affiliated with the IOC that have discretion on who to send to the Olympics is it not? So as long as they send the pair that qualifies for the Olympics within the rules even if there is a higher ranked pair, they are not overstepping their bounds?Any chance of another court appeal on this...?
