Imagine a game (first of the match) between Andrew and Bob being 29:28 in favor of Andrew. Bob scores, and the umpire's announcement is

service over, 29 game point all

What is the correct announcement if Andrew scores now? Is it

Game. First game won by Andrew, 30-29.

or

Service over, game. First game won by Andrew, 30-29.

Usually, umpires wait for protest before announcing .. game/match won by ... However, at 29-29, and if it's unclear which side won (say a fault near the net where both sides were), an announcement of just Game. would lead to confusion.

It's never unclear which side won if the umpire acts accordingly.

Alright, then imagine both players being at the net like this, where multiple faults are possible. How does an umpire "act accordingly"? Note that showing a hand in one direction could either mean that the side won the point or that it has been faulted.

But assuming that it is obvious which side won, what is the correct announcement amleto?

I thought the umpire could only point in one direction, not that they could choose. If that's not the case then I'm mistaken

There are no hand signals to show who has won the rally, game or match. The RTTO lists all official hand signals:

• In/out, often skipped by umpires, but sometimes used to clarify. I used to show it, but players inevitably complain even more when they see the signal, so one might as well skip it. (§6.6)
• Service faults (§5.3)
• Cards (§3.7.3-5)
• Referee (§3.3.1.5)
• IRS (challenge, §3.3.1.6)

In addition, BWF umpire training includes a signal for the moppers.

All other hand signals are improvised.

Usually you say fault and point to the side that faulted is what is supposed to happen. In any case, at 29-all, and confusion happens, you say fault, and nobody knows what's going on, you will say "Fault; Game." and then proceed to explain to the players why he/she got faulted. Unfortunately, the audience may still be left in confusion at the end of the match because you are not making any announcement at the end of the match until everyone has shaken hands.
