Just read from Malaysia's Star that Badminton will be included in the next SEA Games in Manila after all.

Two months ago, Badminton as well as many other Olympic sports, was left out. 12 sports, including more popular ones like football, cycling, sailing, table tennis, shooting and volleyball are also reinstated.

Some of the newer ones which perhaps favour more of the host nation are Arnis (?), Baseball, Chess and Dance Sport.

At least badminton will continue to steer the imagination of an up-and-coming nation of badminton enthusiasts.

Yup it will be included but will it be categorized as a "true medal sport" or just an "exhibition" one?

Badminton has been a core sport in the SEA Games programme for a long time and I'll be most surprised if it is still treated as "exhibition".

I wish I could say the same but against your countrymen and the Indonesians, I don't think our Vietnamese friend stands much of a chance!

Come to think of it, ants, you belong to SEA (Southeast Asia), not just Malaysia alone! Rather diplomatic way of putting it "I'm torn between a few countries"! :D

In men's singles, not only the Malaysians and Indonesians are huge hurdles, but the Thais and Singaporeans are not that easy as well.
