I am curious to know which country pays the most cash reward to its players for winning the Olympics and World Badminton Championships. LCW got RM300,000/- for winning the silver medal at the Olympics. He was also granted a life-pension of RM3000/- per month and awarded a datukship by his home state of Penang. I think the Koreans pay their Olympics gold medallists US1.0 million and grant them life-pensions. _________________________________________________________________
You can do a search in the news article, was posted before. For Msia : OG Gold = RM1 million, life time pension = RM5,000/mth OG silver = RM300K, life time pension = RM3,000/mth OG Bronze = RM100K, life time pension = RM1,000/mth World Champs 1) CHeck it yourself for WC in Msia. Uncles CTF/LWW received RM5,000 from NSC for their 2007 WC bronze. BAM gives an extra RM30 K for a WC title(gold). Our women's bowling team had won the World title in 2007 and received RM100K, but that's team event, the RM100K was for whole team. 2) Kido/Setiawan received 25 million rupiah from INA government (I think) and 100 million rupiah each person from their baddy club for their 2007 WC title. 3) Nova/Lilyana each received a car & 200 million rupiah from their baddy club 4) Japanese MD received 1 million yen for their 2007 WC bronze.
