Please look at Mizuno japan website, there are 3 new models. One of them is Wave Fang RV, but I think this is only for men.
Does anyone know where I can buy Badminton shoes here in the Philippines. I already checked the Mall of Asia branch, but they do not have badminton shoes, only volleyball shoes.
If they aren't provide Badminton shoes, you can try Indoor/Volleyball shoes. Myself use Wave Lightning 7 and very very satisfied. You can also use Wave Rally 4 (lower level than Wave Lightning 7). In my experience (I don't know for Asics shoes because haven't tried), no others brand can beat Mizuno in term of Cushioning. Mizuno wave technology cushioning is superb.
used a wave blocker 7, wave stardom rx, wave tornado 7. and also li ning saga pro. i would say the wave stardom has an awesome balance of light weight and cushioning but not that durable, the wave blocker is quite heavy and doesnt have the best cushioning but very durable. only used my tornado 7 about 15 sessions (2-3 hours each), overall satisfied, still looks like new, very grippy and the cushioning is awesome. not the most laterally stable compared to my li ning, but the ankle protection is good.
if you already know the exact size you can order online, and if the shoes are only available for men, maybe you can find a pair small enough for your feet?
don't buy Mizuno because you will be hooked forever, I have Mizuno lightning 6, it's not just comfy but tailor fit to the contour and arc of my feet, it's just like 2nd skin to my feet, victor shb 9000 ace and sh A850 both are ok, but nothing like this Mizuno, I swear, Mizuno 's way to go.
Here's my post on Wave Fangs: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/130146-Mizuno-Wave-Party-2!!?highlight= I'm not a fan of the Wave Tornado and other higher / heavier Mizunos. Good for big guys though!
I have the Wave Fang XT 2. Cushioning is too minimal and too firm for my injured knees. However, breathability, stability and traction are superb.
I picked a pair of Wave Fang RV shoes and are currently using them. As others have alluded to, the cushioning is firm, so reaction time is optimized but protection from impacts isn't as comfy as the wave lightning series. You're fairly close to the ground so push offs and lateral movement are fairly instantaneous. However the largest selling point for me, is that they're designed for wide feet. No more having to go up a half a size, just to get the width. I find when going up a size, I tend to catch the toe of the shoe with the floor and stumble. My old shoe victor shoe sh-980w, was wide, but stretched too much perhaps a sign that the shoe may be worn out. The WF-RV, so far has molded to my foot nicely and has retained its shape. Only time will tell if it's a good shoe or a wonderful shoe. So far as I'm breaking in the shoe, the performance gets better. However those with joint issues may want to look at the other series.
Wow, 4E, now that's wide. I'll bet you can stomp out forest fires with those puppies. I stand corrected.
The badminton (width) sizing is kinda strange: 3E is normal width, 2E is narrow and 4E are the rare wide models. Mizuno classified the RV as a 3E model but all the better if it is a roomy 3E . Looks like they've hit HK already but at $830 they are more expensive than in Japan . Think I might give this one a go ...
I think the photos and in combination with the cut of the shoe (The black plastic forefoot reinforcement) make it look like its a mid cut. But in fact the shoes are regular cut.
