I am not sure which is correct.. according to report in Sinar Harapan (local newspaper), Chan Choong Ming/Koo Kien Keat were victorious beating Hendra Gunawan/Joko Riyadi 15-13, 12-15, 15-10
From Indonesian newspaper (http://www.kompas.com/olahraga/news/0412/16/220623.htm if you can read Malay/Indonesian), Lin Dan scrapped past Sairul Amar Ayob 15-12, 11-15, 15-10 Lee CH beat Kuan Beng Hong (that means Kuan defeated Park Sung Hwan) 9 and 11. Wong CH beat Nicholas Kidd 13 and 4. Bao beat Wiempie Mahardi (who earlier defeated Kaldau) 6 and 3. The draw now looks like this. Lin Dan v Wong CH (predict Lin) Taufik v Hafiz (predict Taufik) Lee CW v Chen Hong (predict Lee) Sony v Bao (predict Sony)
Pi unlucky After the loss of her wallet, Pi lost her second round 13/12 at the rubber against an unknown local junior named Francisca. Not able to deal with the wind and the crowd, Pi lost early in this open indo open. Seems now too easy for Xingfang. I hope she'll have a new wallet for her first french citizen Xmas !! Troncheur (french fan)
Pi Ousted by Local Hope So sad, she lost her wallet, French ID and now she lost her game And the brave girl came down to Jakarta by herself!!!!! from badminton-indonesia.com news.badminton-indonesia.com ====== In the biggest upset of the tournament today at the Tennis Indoor Stadium, local hope Fransisca Ratnasari defeated tournament favourite Pi Hong Yan of France. In the men's singles, only Taufik and Sonny go through the quarterfinals.
I would bet on Chen Hong and Bao come out as winners. Sony has been beaten up by Bao too many times. Lin Dan v Wong CH ---> Lin Taufik v Hafiz ---> Taufik Lee CW v Chen Hong ---> Chen Sony v Bao --->Bao
Hi Joel_y, your prediction is very biased towards Chinese. I think it may not be as easy as that based on current forms. Chinese players are very good, but I would not say they can overwhelm others, Lin Dan almost lost to a backup player from Malaysia FYI
According to the article o worldbadminton.net, Ayob Sairul is "worth much more than his world ranking shows"...it seems like Lin always had trouble overcoming him too from their head-to-head http://www.worldbadminton.net/Porta...me2=LIN&firstname1=Sairul Amar&lastname1=AYOB Didn't the players play 2 games today also lol
MSQF dog fight -Wong Choon Hann has not been impressive lately but I am sure he is very motivated to beat Lin Dan to regain his confident, for that I am picking an upset of WCH over LD, may not be popular choice but for Han's brother, it's the right thing to do -Lee Chong Wei vs Chen Hong should be a close one, I am sure Chen Hong wants to win the title to confirm his status in the national team but Chong Wei has vastly improved lately. Chen Hong may find it hard to fullfil his dream. -Hafiz vs Taufik, that really depends on which Taufik shows up during the match- the Olympic's Taufik with great determination or Taufik of any other tournaments. I wish Taufik can win so we all have chance to see the clash of Taufik vs Lin Dan. -Sony vs Boa Chunlai is also pretty interesting but Boa has upper hand as he has better overall games than Sony who basically solely rely on his only weapon, jump smashes. If any one can provide the video footage of the above(have to be from Indonesia as it's broascast solely on SCTV) please contact me at han_cheong@yahoo.com. Deeply appreciated!
I went to the Sinar Harapan website and it did say Chan Choong Ming/Koo Kien Keat were victorious. Will play Alven/Luluk in the next round. Guess we'll have to wait for the official result.
Well, it is my prediction or wishes, I am not saying they will win for sure... Based on past scores--Chen Hong 3:1 Lee ChongWei(Lee is improving, but Chen Hong is a very stable player), Bao 2:0 Sony, plus at least two more from junior level, to make it 4:0. I do not know why you think I am biased. One INA news reported: Sonny has uttered pessimism when asked about his chance to beat Bao Chun Lai. "He beat me three times when we were still in the junior league, and I have never won a single match even in the pro league," says the 5th seed. He said he will not hope much but will try his best this time. The last time Bao beat Sonny was at the Swiss Open this year. --from http://badminton-indonesia.com/phpn...ws&file=article&sid=211&mode=&order=0&thold=0 As for Lin Dan's score(your post sounds like Lin Dan is as good as a backup player from Malaysia, by the way, I do not know if this is biased or not), he has never lost to this backup player from Malaysia(based on IBF record), and he might not even pay too much attention to him in that match's preparation. As for Wong CH, although he is a great player and I like him very much, my guess would be his time is almost over(very sadly). There's no need to argue. Actually, all the matches are very close. Except for Lin-WongCH match, I will put the matches at close to 50-50. And even if Wong CH upsets Lin Dan, I wouldn't be overly shocked.
