This stringing pattern main advantage is it minimizes deformation of the racket while stringing. I have a racket with a crack on the top where the tie off is (NanoRay 700) and it strung it no problem. Same with a friends Z-Slash. Crack in the exact same spot, but bigger. The racket did not break on me. I am still doing +10% on the cross, but I heard other people using this pattern does the same tension throughout...
So i have been practicing on an old Forza racket, so far so good. Just did my VT ZF II with NG98 24x26 The left is the NG98 did myself the right one is Apacs Slayer 66 done by local stringer (24*26lbs). Comments?
I just noticed that you should trip the tie off string more. That excess makes it look weird. Also some pictures of the outside of the frame would give better evaluation. I am assuming you did the Yonex 2 Piece Pattern
I shall take some more pictures. I did cut the tie off end of the string more already, but yeah looks weird. Yes i did the official pattern from yonex form the ZF2.
So did my other Z-force 2 with BG80, I think i need some new clamps, the ones I have now seem to damage the string somewhat. Anyway what do you guys think:
Thanks Yeah I saw some posts about that. My previous string job did had one crossed string. I dont know if I should get other clamps, i thing these ones are dameging it a little.. Plus the seem to slip somewhat.
It appeared that most knots were cave-in in the grommets. Either the grommets were worn-out or your knot was not substantial enough. Try the Parnell knot in next round.
This was fress of the machibe . Crosses are straight nog. Look beter indeed As for the knots. I used the "no tension loss" knot from the badminton central YouTube channel. The cross start knot is oké.. And the 1 of the tie off knots is also OK. Butt Yeah other 2 did sink in al litlle.. So next time i will try parnell.. Racket had been string about 6/7 times. Still same grommets. Cant het my hands on these ZF2 grommets in the Netherlands. Any ideas where tot buy them? Thanks for the comments
If you want better clamps, I recommend Winston's MyBadmintonStore Clamps. I have 2x 6 tooth clamps, good for the mains, but makes the crosses a tad bit messy. I have used them for about a year. For the cross, Winston also has the 5 tooth clamps, which is a little wider, more suitable for the crosses. About your tie offs, thats interesting it looks like that. I use the same knot and it doesnt look like that afterwards.
Well this should never have left the shop. Lasted just over 1 game too. More fool me for even taking it on court i suppose.
Nice one! Classic case for http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/index.php?threads/the-bc-chamber-of-stringing-horrors.165842/
You really want to pull at that thread? I think there was one that looked like the stringer went out of his way to put one in. Across multiple strings. Didn't post it though as I do some crossovers myself...
So here is my first go at stringing a racket using the Superstringer S90 drop weight machine. RKEP Ti 70 string (bought a reel for practicing with) and I tried 24lbs with 25lbs on the crosses. Fairly happy with how it went for a first try, took quite a long time, perhaps around 2 hours. Next time I will be working on trying not to cross strings, improving weaving, speed and also the knots. I was trying to use the Toshi/Gudgeon knot and I am not sure if I am doing it correctly. The knots all seemed fine and didn't slip much but I am not happy with how the cross start knot has sunk as much as it has. I was possibly pulling the knot too tight and making it too small. Other than string not sitting on grommets, that looks very neat. Good shape too I think. Congrats: ) Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk
For a first job ever this looks bloody awesome, well done! Knots look good (sinking of the starter is totally within tolerance), frame shape too and forget that one crossover - that's something you can start worrying about after job #50.
Thank you for the words of encouragement! Glad I'm starting in the right direction. With regards to the string not sitting on the grommets, this is something that is present in all my rackets and must be something the stringer I was using did so I was just copying. I will do it different next time. Thanks!
