There is actually money involved aside from Pride and Glory. The players affinity to all the brands they are endorsing even if they step up in nondescript fashion.

Somewhat along those lines. Any achievement is commensurate to fixed bonuses either on a individual, team or national level. The sponsorship can always claim: ''National Champion...''
