Whittalboy, you are very light on your feet. :)

I’m not a coach, so can’t give any advice on how to improve your already-good skills. But the fact that you split-step and accelerate quickly is definitely a strength. Plus, you and your friend are obviously enjoying yourselves, which shows your love of the game.
    Thanks for sharing.

Hi there, happy new year everone !

I recorded a match recently. Have you any advices of what to improve? I am the asian one.

I was quite tired but from what I see, the quality of my shots are quite poor (clears were too short, many unforced errors), maybe a lack of concentration too as a result, my reactions were slow.
And last, I need to build up my stamina.

Clears too short and not high enough. You feel slow because the opponent doesn't have to move so much for the shuttle so he takes it earlier and you have less time.

Here goes nothing... I'm the girl in shorts on camera side

Everyone was making a crazy ton of mistakes today so it's a bit embarrassing/ painful to watch. One of the guys hadn't played in months so he kinda has a reason. Maybe everyone was self conscious of being recorded

I feel like I don't have a lot of synergy with my partner in the video. Next week I'll try to improve our communication and work on the back court problem I posted about in another thread. Didn't get a chance to work on it since we mixed up partners each game

I know I've got a lot to improve on so feel free to comment. Will try to get a better video next week and maybe singles too :)

It's a bit hard to quantify since it's been on and off. I started learning by playing 2 vs 1 (me and another beginner with an experienced relative) once a week for about half a year.

Then I played in the high school team for 5 years but those competitions were only once a week for 5 months each year. We were in B girls and later B open but sometimes competed against teams far below B grade or they didn't even didn't show up. During high school I enjoyed playing but wasn't serious about improving. My performance was also partially affected by forearm pain which I later attributed to having a u1 racket.

Then I stopped playing for about 2 years when I started uni. Started playing again beginning of last year once a week for about 7 months, took 4 months off, and started playing regularly again about a month ago. In the last year I started getting more serious about improving

your overhead stroke is pretty far from your centre line, ie your elbow is not high. This is why you lean so much on smashes (to try and reach up, even though your elbow is low).
