Come to this thread posted in the 2005 tournaments and all shall be revealed by the excellent photos taken by our fellow red00ecstrat at HK open....... http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28019&page=1&pp=18
me and a couple friends use only one layer of ac102ex directly on the wood. it feels much better. replacement of grip however, is required almost once every two weeks. i remove it and rotate it a little and manage about one month if its not all that dirty.
Woah..What happened to LD's grips...? It's coming off like crazy! One match can cause that much damage to the grip?
not really.. apparently he wraps his grip in that fashion for most of his rackets.. This was also seen in China Master too.. he definatly wraped it like that for a purpose
but wouldnt the grip size be slightly smaller? im gonna give it a try, besides, i can always go buy a pack of replacement grip .
I am using Yonex Supergrap over wood at the moment - very thin. I don't think he would be using wood.
I don't think so, I think you are reading too much into this. Have you tried using the racquet without a grip? As to switching hand position on grip relates more to doubles versus singles than smash versus net shot! Close to the cone is for doubles and in particular fast attacking shots close in.
im gonna try it with Wilson Tennis Pro Overgrip cause its more thicker first, and then im gonna try it with AC102EX, both on wood, ill tell you guys how it is in a couple mothns
Well in that case maybe he wants to remind himself just to hold on to the end of the racket where the grip is
my gut feeling is LD is trying to overcome his bad habit of holding the racket to close to the cone (as in doubles play) and I think he did it, his net shots r still very tight and now his smashes are more deadly than ever! just my 2cents
High? Yes. Too high? I don't think so. The players know what they are looking for, and I don't think they want to ruin their own performance just to show off "higher tension" like we do.
Yeah I noticed that too^^ http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28458 What is it? New trend? Coincidence? I know i've been asking alot of time but no one seen to have the answer. What weight is Taufik using??
It is because they don't want to grip high up on the cone unententionally. In singles you need all the reach you can get, so no use to grip up high.
Is it possible they are doing this to manage the weight of the wrap and to get the right feel that they want? if they wrapped all the way up with a heavier grip it may change the racket feel for them??? http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14658&stc=1
Alright, after an hour of search in the forum I finaly found out myself that Taufik is using 4U AT700 strung at 32 lbs with BG66 Taufik prefers 4U while Lin prefers 3U Searching in the forum owns^^ it just take lots of time hehe
