So far no upsets today. Although CH was seeded higher, we'd all agree LCW was the form player. ZM in her own class and the TPE pair were seeded #1 thus expected to win.

Congrats to all the winners, CHN had 0 of 3 so far. Anyway, great fighting spirits from those young CHN players.

no, actually i'm sure LYB doesn't care.
in fact, if anything, he might be rather pleased.
every other country sent their number one players, while china was represented by backups.

    results here?
well, i see that every other country's number one's playing hard to defeat these back up players.

    what does this mean?
i think this means that any player (perhaps even from the lowest end) from the chinese squad on any given day will give any other country's best a good run for their money.

so why would LYB be angry?
if him and his primary coaching staff didn't even bother to show up to the tournament, why would they care?

In my opinion, if he has any plan on PO, he won't plan to get a title in WS otherwise there will be more Chinese players, like Jiang Yanjiao, Wang Lin, etc, if he wishes ZN and XXF to have a good rest before WC.

That's exactly wat i meant ! Other countries outside CHN meants a victorious for ALL.. Actually CHN has the options to choose not to send their top players in any non SS. But they never did that.. (Even BaoCL; Their 2nd MD pair was send here in PO !) So we might often see many Badminton tournaments won by CHN teams.. Slim Chance for Badminton delevelopment countries such as Russia, India, Aus ....etc to take any title away frm them...

but since when was denmark, england, germany, france, and netherlands a threat to china as a whole? (presently, i mean)

denmark lacks in the ladies department.
england lacks in the singles department.
germany, france, and netherlands have fledgling and developing badminton programs in comparison.

Mixed doubles is next on the card .... should be interesting match.

But a quick note on Zhu ..... why LYB is releasing Zhu now at an "old" age of 22. Normally Chinese players start playing international when they are 16, 17 or 18 for girls..........

Other countries should develop more strict training method...
They can't wait for the appearance of talented players.

BCL isn't a backup player, but we have to be honest. LYB only see's hope in LD's play. BCL has proven to be on par with pretty much everyone else, and has a shot at beating anyone, but once again, we've seen that the much lower ranked backup players have just as much as a shot. in the end, BCL loses a lot more games than he should be if he's to be considered to be at the same level as LD. heck, i honestly feel Chen Yu is a more consistent player than BCL. he just never gets the breaks cuz he's old. (26?)

    XZB/GZD is a backup team.
XZB is on his way down. i'll admit that XZB is a joy to watch play, but his XD game is getting worse, and his MD game is even worse than his XD game. Fu/Cai is the only MD players that china has hope in winning anything in the entire event. and the juniors aren't stepping up.

This Gold series tourney is probably of the highest standard so far of its level in attracting top players so it's not that far off SS. Sounds like court conditions and shuttle nature rather tricky so if player can handle it, it's a good sign of adaptability.
Why do you complain so much of CHN dominating? Non-CHN players are making inroads slowly but surely. Try to concentrate on the progress made by non-CHN rather than getting negated by the past. And what's wrong with CHN winning as long as they win fair and square ie no fake matches, no fake w/o, no fake service or receiver fault calls.....

"Backup players" is an understatement for CHN team, I guess u simply mean "second liners or below".
