Total Prize Money : US$360,000 DRAW : - https://extranet.bwfbadminton.com/d...s 2022 - DRAWS _Tuesday, 14th June 2022_.XLSX - https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/draws.aspx?id=EE44BEB4-66E3-4303-A3FB-2445388DDEF4 Tournament time-table 2020 WINNERS => https://bwfworldtour.bwfbadminton.c...odua-malaysia-masters-2020/results/2020-01-12 MS - Kento Momota (JPN) WS - Chen Yufei (CHN) MD - Kim Gi Jung/Lee Yong Dae (KOR) WD - Li Wenmei/Zheng Yu (CHN) XD - Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong (CHN) Several top names opt to skip second tournament in KL, Axelsen, Lee ZJ, Antonsen, Marin, Lee/Wang, Minions are among the notable absentees, either accumulated fatigue, injury or recovery process as particular reason to pull out in last minute, no thanks to cramp schedule which unfriendly with player's fitness condition. Looking at upper-half draw, Anthony Ginting becomes the only seeded left and providing much wide open opportunity for the underdogs to rake valuable ranking point. Sensing MS category might spring surprising winner as none is big favourite assuming all leading contenders have fluctuation performance in first half of this year. It's duplicate of MAS Open WS draw, exactly same scenario might happen where Tai TY is slated to face Sindhu and Chen YF-Okuhara has possible meeting in quarterfinal, what a ridiculous coincidence or something wrong with BWF drawing software. Many intriguing matches ahead which preceded by Sindhu-He BJ at first round. Who can stop world number one XD pair at the moment? Perhaps only tiredness that could halt their winning streak. They will seek 6th title in 2022, the mighty duo have relatively comfortable draw, the Olympic Champs highly likely will be Zheng/Huang semifinal opponent. Covid has a new strain, but most of us got vaccine. Haizzzz, I'm afraid of some players will get covid and cannot compete in World Champion this year. Wish all good things to players. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I don't know why the organizers aranged Hoki/Kobayashi versus Liu/Ou today. Normally, the one who played final last week would play at the second day of the tournament.
What happened on Court 1? Anybody ? There was a match between Brazil XD and Malaysia XD. And Brazil won the game 1 and leading the game 2 with 4-2, suddenly Referee came and stopped the match and both the pairs went away. What happened?
LJH beat WHY and I'm not even surprised. I always felt he had the potential, even after he lost in the Thomas Cup,I still supported him. There's a reason he was a junior champion, and his competition during his junior days was stiff also. BAM kind of failed to bring out his potential. I hope he wins this tournament,or at least reach the semifinals so his ranking can go up faster. I really believe once he can qualify for bigger tournaments he would perform well because he has the mentality to beat higher ranking opponents, just struggling with consistency. both LJH and NTY won their opening games today. watching their styles i would consider LJH is more of Victor Axelson style (slower and less smashes) and NTY is more of Lee Chong Wei style
Yes they both won,but rarely see NTY upset top players unlike LJH,but NTY is more consistent. Hopefully NTY will upset a few players too this time. I think LJH is still finding his style, previously he play a lot of rallies with less smashes, today he was more aggressive. I think his attacking is quite good actually, but don't know why in the past he didn't use it much. Sent from my SM-A307GN using Tapatalk
Some cruel drawings affect men's doubles first round, Hoki/Kobayashi who just won MAS Open had to dig deep to edge past recent INA Open winner Ou/Liu in thrilling game, both pairs leading alternately in decider, the tall Chinese combination look uncomfortable with the flat game, often mishit the shuttlecock into the net frequently. No third time lucky for Astrup/Rasmussen who must lost to same opponents Choi/Kim in three consecutive tournaments, they had trouble to balance the Koreans speed. Local second-ranked pair Goh/Izzuddin sent packing early to face last week semifinal rivals Alfian/Ardianto, two silly mistakes at crucial stages cause INA pair proceed into last sixteen. China latest hopeful, Weng HY failed to clear qualification round, his road to move step forward falters at the moment, inconsistency and lack of variation shots to execute, the expectation on him growing higher automatically after nailed S500 title in Korea last April. He was subdued by MAS back-up Leong JH, 2017 Asian Junior Champion, same age with the Chinese, 23 years old.
