Just my assumption and I could be wrong - He has a bulky body - gym body. More muscle mass. I am sure his BMI is more too (just by the appearance). More strain on his joints, due to his attacking play. More injuries.

It must be a boring match if Ko Sung Hyun/Kim Ha Na is playing against a WD pair.. ;)

    By the way, ZN/ZY vs KSH/KHN 21-14, 16-15

she looks really really thin. Too thin? Is that the reason for loss of form?

Zhang/ Zhao vs Ko/ Kim was much closer than the scoreline suggests, was a tough match.

Ratchanok failed physically in the deciding set. I believe she will win the next meeting vs Yihan.

RI will struggle among the top WS if she don't work on her fitness. Look at CM, LXR, WSX, NO, AY, SN, TZY... these are all her rivals who can fight in 3 games. I'm a fan of RI and hope to see her win more titles, but skill without stamina is no use.

I'd thought Sun Yu would trouble Nozomi but not beat her, in two straight sets to boot though G2 was a very close affair. Another confirmation that Sun Yu is improving albeit slowly and steadily.

Actually before the match has started and even yesterday I have already mentioned that both Ko Sung Hyun / Kim Ha Na will face a very tough match vs Tian Qing / Zhao Yunlei. This is due to the China no 1 ranking in the world. Although they have lost today, they have already put up TOUGH fight before they lose 14-21, 16-21. Anyway congratulations to Zhang Nan / Zhao Yunlei who have won today they are really very good and played very well. China has really live up to the expectations again when they have so many players playing in the semifinals tomorrow. All their players have performed so well except their MS department this time. I predict that China will win the WS, WD, MX and MD golds.

I am still not confident about Wang Yi Han. Ratchanok looked to have serious problems with her knee in the third game rather than Wang Yi Han playing a lot better.

Yes! Adcock's take it to a deciding game.

Hope they get off to a good start and keep it close.

Not winning many points when serving to Lu Kai

    Summary of the players performance
Players that qualify to the play in semifinals

    1. China (3 women singles, 3 mixed doubles, 2 women doubles, 1 men double).
Therefore it is confirmed that China will certainly be getting 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals tomorrow).
Just hope that in future the China players will not vs each other in the second round and quarterfinals so that we will get to see better quality players. Well, China is still the power house in WS, MX and WD.

    2. Indonesia (1 mixed double, 1 men single, 2 men singles)
Indonesia is confirmed of at least 4 bronze medals.

    3. Japan (2 women doubles, 1 men double, 1 men single)
Japan is confirmed of at least 4 bronze medals.

    4. Hong Kong (1 men single)
Hong Kong is confirmed of at least 1 bronze medal.

    5. Taiwan (1 women single)
Taiwan is confirmed of at least 1 bronze medal.

The results have actually shown to us which country is still the power house in badminton thus far. :)

HK is an independent member of the IOC, participating under the name of "Hong Kong, China".

HK is also an independent member of many international organisations, eg, APEC, WTO, and many others.

Taiwan participates under the name of "Chinese Taipei".
