The German swimmers are performing really poor! Perhaps because they're the only ones in Adidas suits but I'm sure those must've performed just fine in practice otherwise they surely wouldn't use them ... Just watching some interviews and one after the other get's eliminated in the heats and they have no idea why!?

I think Phelps and Thorpe should not be compared as both specialize in different events. Phelps is the best in medley events while Thorpe was in freestyle event.. besides, Phelps lost to Thorpe during 200 m freestyle final in Athens 2004, so if i want to compare them, i'd say Thorpe is slightly better.. .. GO GO Australian Swimming Team!!
though i am not a big swimming fans, i do admire both Thorpe and Phelps. I watched the race (OG2004) and i still remember that was the greatest race by far (Thorpe, Netherland guy, and Phelps). No doubt, Thorpe won the GOLD but Phelps did better in OG08... now, he is the greatest olympiad in the history with 11 GOLDs... and still counting...

The dark-horse CHN swimmer Liu Zige created new world record (2:04.18) of Women's 200m Butterflystyle and won gold. Congratz to Alain Bernard who grabbed gold in prestigious swimming event, 100m Freestyle!

its cool that he's winning the swim meets with great times and breaking records but i'm tired of hearing so much hype from NBC about him... the media repeats the topic about him so much.
so a local newspaper says the reason is that the track n field is so tarnished by doping that nbc is avoiding covering track n field. but yes. so sick of phelps as well as that 4x200 relay finish footage.
