    my predictions:

    KIDO Markis / SETIAWAN Hendra
vs RASMUSSEN Jonas / PAASKE Lars

heart says JR/LP, but brain says Hendra/Markis

    XIE Xingfang vs LU Lan

XXF better bet to beat Maria

YULIANTI Maria Kristin vs ZHANG Ning

tough one to choose. i say ZN 55 : MK 45.

HWANG Jiman / LEE Jaejin vs FU Haifeng / CAI Yun

Fu/Cai still untroubled and totally focused and on fire

LEE Hyunil vs LEE Chong Wei

49:51 i am afraid. really too tough to call.

MAEDA Miyuki / SUETSUNA Satoko vs ZHANG Yawen / WEI Yili

as much as i like the fighting spirit of the Japanese, they will have a uphill battle against Zhang/Wei.

    LIN Dan vs CHEN Jin

fixed or not. LD will win this one.

LEE Kyungwon / LEE Hyojung vs YU Yang / DU Jing

    i am predicting a 3 game thriller

i just noticed that for WD, regardless of who stand at which spot on the podium, Lee Kyung Won is the only person to have stood there in 2004 and 2008.

The key of WD final is Du Jing.....she is the weakest link....since this is first time for Dujing/Yuyang in final of OG, if the nerves kicks in then the gold will belong to Korea.......you can rewind on those matches and appears that Du Jing made so many unforced errors..

I've been doing a good job of getting up at 4am every day the last few days to catch the evening sessions.

Perhaps. However I have a feeling when watching the chinese squad that every single player could play for 30 rounds before running out of steam.

A nerve-wrecking day for me.....(esp for the first match).

    Morning Session
10:00 MD SF Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [1] vs Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen -- the last time these 2 pairs met, the Danish pair won in straight sets. It's going to be a tight affair and might last 3 sets if Kido/Hendra are not focussed (esp in the second set, if they win the first one). I hope Kido/Hendra will prevail and fly our Red-White flag in time for the National Day on Sunday!

11:00 WS SF Xie Xingfang [1] vs Lu Lan [3] -- no contest, Xie to advance to the Final.

12:00 WS SF Maria Kristin Yulianti vs Zhang Ning [2] -- another battle to watch here...with Zhang Ning having an edge. But, Maria might surprise us yet again.

13:00 MD SF Lee Jae Jin/Hwang Ji Man vs Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun [2] -- the KOR pair has been impressive so far and they might give some fight to the Chinese pair. However, Fu/Cai will only be satisfied with a Gold Medal.

    Night Session
18:30 MS SF Lee Hyun Il vs Lee Chong Wei [2] -- expect a tough match here, but, if LCW can play as well as he did yesterday, I see him challenging Lin Dan for the Gold on Sunday.

19:30 WD BRONZE Satoko Seutsuna/Miyuki Maeda vs Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen [3] -- the Chinese to avenge their senior's loss to the Japanese pair and get some consolation medal.

20:30 MS SF Lin Dan [1] vs Chen Jin [4] -- as widely predicted, it's time for Chen Jin to repay what Lin Dan had done to him earlier this year. There's no way Li Yongbo gonna let his dream go bust.

21:30 WD FINAL Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung [4] vs Du Jing/Yu Yang [2] -- expect another rubber-set encounter here, with the Korean slightly having the edge. Du/Yu might run out of ideas, given the KOR pair's superior defense. Lee/Lee to add the Olympics Gold Medal to the All-England they won over the same pair this year.
