    according to the London 2012 Olympic Games Explanatory Guide Badminton;

    www.tpenoc.net/download/london2012/Badminton.pdf

    extracts;
    Confirmation and reallocation of quota places by 31 May 2012.
    All entries must be submitted to LOCOG using the online entries system
    by midnight, UK time, on 9 July 2012.
    All replacements requested by NOCs after the final entries deadline of 9 July 2012
    shall follow the IOC–LOCOG late athlete replacement policy.

    Therefore, replacements can still be made after the deadline of 9 July 2012 until presumably the draws been made.

    Later on in the document it also states that;
    In accordance with Part III, Section 6B, Article 1 of the BWF Laws of Badminton and
    Regulations (Olympic Games: Regulations for Badminton Competition), no changes or
    substitutions of any kind can be made to the entries after they have been made.

    So, may be the last date for confirmation is the 9 July 2012.

    yes, at first I also thought they will not make it this time. I don't know why they have been chosen. Maybe PJB is thinking that this might be Satoko Suetsuna's last OG, so, he let her to play. :D

    according to the latest entries, they actually have more points than Mimi/Shiizuka. so by points only they should be the one going.

    what i found it's odd that is PBSI practically said that no matter what they will not send their top ranked player Maria Febe.
    just wondering why?

    Nope, based on last updated Phase Three (9th July 2012) it's already confirmed that Simon and Taufik will represent INA in London Games ;)

    INA still believes Taufik can surprise some players. We'll see about that. It's literally the last chance to prove he aint a flop therefore a winning a medal of any colour is a must.

    He is now this close from not getting inducted into the Hall of Fame or maybe he is not even considered by BWF to include in the Hall of Fame. His final performance at the Olympics will determine it.

    Taufik as former Olympic Champion should show his best in his last Olympic, even to win a bronze needs extra effort here.

    I'm afraid that he will repeat 2008 Beijing Games uninspiring performance when he lost to Wong Choong Han at second round :eek: Hopefully not...

    There's player replacement in WS discipline.

    ..my gut feeling says he will prolly make it alive out of the group stage only to fall short of the QF Rd. (depends also who else will be in his group play).
    And depending also on the draw after the group stage, if he can muster a QF Rd. finish in this OG, it'll prolly be a big accomplishment.
