i read that there is not TV coverage of the world junior final. but have anyone considered bringing in a camcorder and record the match?

we are looking at the future stars of badminton, it would be waste to not record the event.

a mini-dv recorded match can be transferred to mpeg/Xvid quite trivially.

    :)

At the Volunteer Orientation session, we were told that CBC will be there to record the finals.

yes, mental block of CBC again. Here is an international event and no coverage while jouralists are panicking around to fill content because of the hockey strike.

Do u know that we have sport shows counting the days of the hockey strike, a show talking about 'nothing happening' in hockey. More hilarious then watching the 'Dumb and Dumber' movie LOL Of course my attention span is only 10 sec for this.

I heard TSN was going to come for half an hour and wanted $10,000, that is too much so declined. I don't think CBC is coming, but who knows.

Lets hope that if CBC does have coverage, they will have better commentary than the WS Final for the olympics....

Do you have the website link to this particular news? I was looking at badmintonbc.com but couldn't find the news piece.

Well, poor us (people in the US) that have nearly 0% of badminton programs. I think unless it's something like olympics, no tv stations in the US is willing to take badminton seriously.

Need champion to demand TV coverage

If you understand Mandarin, I beleive the China Sports that weekly show in International Channel(I-Chinnel) in US will have highlite of badminton tournaments. Short video footage and mostly cover only Chinese players. World Championship will be broadcast on cable in US, not sure to what extend though. Until US can provide champion calibre players, the chance of watching badminton on TV in US soil is very slim indeed. Our hope now is on Tony Gunawan pair up with Halim and invite Taufik to join US team(yes, his girl friend can come along :))
