I hope, He will do well in the upcoming WC. Played a clean match in the finals. If only he is a little patient in G2 and play his usual game, he could have won the match even if it stretch to G3 in COG. I feel experience played a factor here. He has shown tremendous growth in the past few months.
Anyway this WC will be a litmus test for him. This will be another level of game play and adaptability to control his opponents. His draw is not easy.

the WC is an obvious step for him after CW games. Seems to me he's on a crash course towards a top 10 level player. CW is just what Malay call 'jamah'. level.. WC is where the meat is. I am glad he is there to experience it. Even if he does not make it ... (even if he realizes it If not already) like it or not he is destined to be a top 10 player.
(btw crash course as in a 'fast track' ... not the 'crash and burn' kind hopefully)

Indeed. If Tze Yong could create a miracle (beating Axelsen), that would be huge.

But losing is not bad as well as long as he gains the experience needed for future tournaments.

An all MAS MS final is still on the cards.
    LCW will be anxious.

Disappointing to see NTY lost before having a chance to fight Axelsen.

Too much clear and no attacking shots during G3. Need to be more attacking player.

This severely hampers a chance of having an all-Malaysia MS final.

Jokes aside, I think this match is a clear show of NTY's weaknesses. He clearly couldn't keep up with the Thai player's speed and was relying on his opponent's unforced errors to stay in the game.

To be fair, NTY has always been a slow-rally type player since 2019. It has been only recently that he started a playing a little fast.

He should not copy LCW's defence-to-counter attack style because LCW's defence is godly compared to him.

He’s ahead of his development timetable. Not even supposed to play in this tournament.

    You jinxed it !.
He is talented but not yet to that level. And also he has some bad habits. Today I watched his match against Thamassin, if he was lagging so many points behind, he has a tendency to leave the game as such without trying. That is a very bad habit. This is not a good trait of developing players. He has improved a lot. Only time will tell whether he is meant for Top echelon or not.
