Note the surprising defeat of Hong Kong against India!!! (1-4)

Malaysia vs India might well be the decisive match for the second place of the pool...

Well, I can't read Chinese but the result has been confirmed and there are already articles about it (Kwun posted them here)

Apparently Wang Chen didn't play due to injury.
And Aparna Popat seems on great form too...

India vs Malaysia will be very interesting for sure! :D

Re: THOMAS CUP fifth place matches

HK versus Thailand should be a very interesting matchup.

But I'm very interested in knowing who Zheng Yu Min is. Does anybody have any info on him? Is he HK's rising star? According to worldbadminton.net, has hasn't played any international competition in the last year and a half. What is the reason why it's he, and not the more experienced player like Tam Lok Tin or Lam Hoi Tak who always get pencilled in to play HK's 2nd doubles with Yohan Wiratama.

BTW, has Yau Kwun Yuen retired? (sorry I mean Yau Tsz Yuk. I'm just so used to calling him Yau Kwun Yuen) .

Re: Re: THOMAS CUP fifth place matches

Zheng Yu Min is the former Chinese double players.I think he is more than 30 years old now.Zheng Yu Min/Huang Zhan Zhong ever were the chinese top double players. But he is serious injured in his top form and retired too premature.

Do Indonesia automatically make it to the finals coz they won last year or because they are hosting?

Yes Matt, Indonesia are automatic qualifiers by virtue of being host.
