The only person that can stop Lin Dan's dominance now is LYB

    .
But why did LD comment and/or pay respect to just LCW alone?

Why not PG, TH, CJ, and/or any of the top 10 ranked players in the world?
This was what pjswift has been saying all along (Rereading pjswift's posts).

First of all, by saying what he said, he showed respect to the world ranking system instead of mocking it.

Secondly, Lin Dan is smart enough to mislead the media to put more pressure on LCW in every tournament instead of having others put additional pressure on himself.

If Lin Dan was to say he no longer has any rival than the pressure will be on his shoulder the whole time, and he will be expected to win every match in a dominate style.

If Lin Dan is to say that Taufik, Gade, and etc is his main rival, then anyone who has any idea about the field of badminton will know he is just lying... so why not just name the guy who is ranked #1 in the world, and in case anyone asked why? all he has to say is "well, he is ranked #1 in the world, isn't he"... simple answer

You tend to enjoy accepting opinion of a "c9", well, I don't. This is a "c9" who thinks that she can change the result of a match by screaming her lungs out in the stadium...

Her post is pure opinion, and just like my post here... both have no facts behind it and can not be proven right or wrong.

Chong Wei can forget the next Olympics

GOING by the present scenario, it is going to be very tough for Lee Chong Wei to get a decent shot at winning the World Championships singles title from now on. He had his chance in Hyderabad but blew it.

This is the third time in a row that Chong Wei, the World No 1, had failed in the World Championships and to rub salt into his wound, his fierce rival Lin Dan of China completed his winning hat-trick at the Gachibowli Stadium on Sunday with ease to confirm that he is one of the greatest men's singles shuttlers.

Lin Dan's single-minded approach to become the best is unrivalled as he has reached the final of the World Championships on all four occasions he competed in since 2005 and won three in a row (2006, 2007 and 2009). There was no championships last year because of the Olympics.

In between, Lin Dan captured the Olympic gold medal in Beijing last year which was the only time Chong Wei faced him in a major title match which is a little unusual for a player who has remained second best to his rival from China.

Lin Dan, the World No 5, is no longer the same player who was at his zenith when winning Olympic gold but the fact that he still manages to win major titles separates him from the rest and this is food for thought for Chong Wei.

The push for the Asian Games gold in Guangzhou next year, the only title which has eluded Lin Dan, will be the next drive to keep the China ace to carry on fighting and he could leave compatriot Chen Jin, the runner-up in Hyderabad, to continue China's dominance in the World Championships in Paris next year.

There is no way Chong Wei can match the consistency, talent or mental strength Lin Dan is known for but the Malaysian is still good enough to win at least one major crown.

The 2012 London Olympics looks a distant objective as Chen Jin should be the favourite and Lin Dan could still be around to provide back-up, so Chong Wei should gather himself, forget about London for now, and make a decent attempt in Paris.

However, things will be tougher as Chong Wei will be 28 next year and there is a crop of youngsters on the sidelines who could start making an impact.

One is definitely world junior champion Wang Zhengming of China who is already a national senior champion back home and is likely to make an impact on the international scene soon.

This is the scenario Chong Wei has to cope with but with a lot of hard work and the hunger to end his career with a major honour, it is not impossible for the Malaysian.

Also, the BA of Malaysia (BAM) must start reducing the burden on Chong Wei as he has been soldiering on without quality back-up. Hendrawan, hired recently as Malaysia's coach, has turned some average Indonesian shuttlers into world beaters. He has been put in charge of the elite back-up shuttlers and the Indonesian must help raise the level of the current crop.

If it fails, it is better to focus on juniors like Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin and Zulfadli Zulkifli who seem to have more potential compared to the likes of Liew Daren, Arif Latif, Chong Wei Feng and Tan Chun Seang.

BAM should also look beyond Wong Mew Choo who is not only losing her battle with injuries but has also been struggling against younger players.

[IMG]Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin has more potential to succeed compared to the current back-up shuttlers.

Why would you want to question some sideline spectator when LD said it and it was reported ?;)

    Your post:

"And now LCW will find CJ another hard nut to crack ..."

Loh, what you have written is so blatantly clear. Don't try to wriggle out of this. You said 'And now' - what does that mean ? Tell me what tense is that - is that future tense ?
