Has anyone heard some knews about Taufik?? Lets not hope that this big talent is in the end of his career ... He has to hurry if he has to be ready for the Thomas Cup and the Olympics
when it comes to Taufik, sometimes no news is good news... hopefully he is training hard and not stirring any more trouble with the PBSI...
Yes, Taufik played in the recent Copenhagan Masters, which was won by Wong Choon Han. Peter Garde also took part. The doubles was won by Indonesia. The Danish world doubles pair also took part, but alas, they could not repeat their earlier feat.
Taufik's appearance in the Masters was nothing less than depressing. He wasn't even playing badminton -- it looked like he was just fooling around trying to pull off fancy between-the-legs shots instead of scoring points. Apparently he arrived directly from a vacation with his girlfriend, and hadn't even been in a badminton court for months. I do hope he sorts out his problems. What a sad waste of talent.
Now Taufik is not trained by Joko in Pelatnas (National Training Centre), but he is trained by a coach from his club in Bandung. He moved out from Pelatnas since he won Indonesia Open after 'crash' with national single coach Joko. Since he moved, his performance fell down. You can see his performance in the recent Copenhagan Masters, lost by Wong Choon Han and Peter Garde. The problem is his bad attitude. Hope he will be ready for 2 big events in 2004.
?? by the way: the name of the "little" famous badmintonplayer from DK is Peter Gade, not Peter Garde. Would a footballfan writes David Beckmann?? Thats very sad for badminton...
