Should be pretty interesting this year. I'm pretty surprised at the amount of NZ junior players competing :). I hope some of them get past the first round...

At first I was wondering why WCH wasn't in the Indon Open. I wonder did he choose to go to NZO instead of IO or was he forced to...

Hmm? How do you mean? If you're referring to ctjcad's comment I think he meant it's rescheduled from September, not to September :).

Apparrently this year's Nz open is tougher than last year's. For WS, i predict either Zhou Mi or Pi HOng Yan will win this title..but of course they will also be facing some god players from Japan (they played very well even though againts their team mate)..for MD obviously CCM-HTH might will hav the chance to win if they can overcome some strong pair from Indonesia as the Indonesian are putting their young players into this tournament. For MS is a bit tricky as a lot of top players participated in this tournament such as Roslin, WCH..Yeoh Kay Bin..well.. just wish them all the best hehe..~

    From the klrcnzopen.com website (partial):

The second seeded Australian duo of Ashley Brehaut and Aji Basuki Sindoro were also knocked out by an Indonesian pair in a controversial match which included some racquet throwing. Anggun Nugroho and Devin Lahardi Fitriawan (Indonesia) managed to upset the Australians' rhythm after the first game winning the match 18-21 21-17 21-18.

Can anyone elaborate on the incident(s) and how much racket throwing was there? :D

ahaha wow racquet throwing...thats always amusing. I remember when Taufik broke his racquet during the 2002 Thomas Cup final, playing against Lee Tsuen Seng. I know its bad to throw a temper, but I actually find it quite amusing to watch hehe.

I wouldn't be suprised if Ashley Brehaut was the one throwing his racquet. His brother Stuart who plays MS is known for argueing with line calls etc.
