I have this problem intermittently with FireFox 1.5.01, I do not know if the problem is browser specific or not.

Just thought I'd report this, I'm not actually bothered about my post count or anything. :)

Edit: I realised this was an old thread, I just didn't see the point in making a new thread about the same problem.

I don't think the broswer matter, I believe some of the forums doesn't increase the post number and that is set by the admin.

I would like to know why if Kuwn would kindly explain to us. :)

    Message Counter

    hi guys,
I have been noticing it lately that my message counter is behaving erratically for past couple of months. Has anyone noticed it?
Moderators, can something be done about it?
    thanks,
    badmad

I don't know if this is the same problem that badmad has encountered but my last few posts have all been number 144 ie the counter number hasn't increased

I have posted quite a few messages since the message counter was 178 (almost 20-30 more) but my counter hasn't increased since then. It's struck at 178.

Certain forum sections don't do the count, i.e. market place, chit-chat, etc. Not sure if such explaination apply.

I noticed it didn't change when I posted in the chit-chat forum but I thought that might be deliberate, but I've also posted in the General Forum and I am still on #144. It doesn't really bother me but it is a bit odd

I just posted something on the professional players forum and I went up to #145.

I also just posted on the techniques/training forum and went up to #146.

Maybe posting on the general forum doesn't increase the post count?

Kwun, your 3 posts on this thread all read #12,378, so it's affecting you as well.

I've also looked at a number of other threads in the general forum and the posters count has not increased. It looks like any message in the general forum does not count towards the postcount. At least I wasn't being singled out, feel less paranoid now!

actually, the message count below your name is not related to the post. it is the current post count. if i go back to my first post i ever made, it will still read 12,378 next to it...

Yes, this happens to me as well, my post counter only seems to increase every now and then, it could be as crosscourt suggested that certain forums do not 'count'
