    Please...

eagle, please use the search function to find what you need. Almost every YY racquet these past couple of years have been discussed. You'll find plenty of information here but you just have to be patient and read the archives. Thanks. :)

go to www.badmintoncentral.com and go to the reviews area. And under the unlisted rackets area there should be a few mp88 reviews

Got this racquet last month for my mom. She loves it. Very light like Mark said, but I'd say it's only slightly head-heavy, more balanced than other MP racquets. Becoz of the lightness of the racquet, the racquet feels "fragile" . control is excellent but not much power unless you got great form and swing speed. The paintjob is very simple, silver w/ red sections at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. Just a quick number reference:

    power: 6/10
    control: 9/10
    singles: 7/10
    doubles: 9/10

    overall: 8/10

    Thanks everybody for your reply!
But in addition, does anybody have any recommendations on the type of string & tension for this raquet. I am an intermediate/advanced player and i play about 2-3 times per week for about 2 hrs each time. Any recommendations would be great! Thanks!

There is your popular BG-65 and you can string that @ 20-24lbs depending on how stiff you like your stringbed to feel.

Or go with the BG-85, which is now my fav string now, a better string in everything sense except durability.

Try the BG88Ti. Mine is strung at 18/20 lbs and I could not ask for a better racket/string combination. Smashes are crisp, placement shots are very precise and drop and net play feel is outstanding.

    Cheers,

    Mike

    88's

Hey 88's has been my racket of choice for a while now. ive had my 88 - 4knots up to 30 using Bg66.

If you have good form and timing this racket is perfect. with about 27lbs the control and accuracy and power you can get is amazing. Super when it comes to net play.

I guess its all a matter of preference...

    Pop Goes The Racket!

on the subject of breaking rackets - be sure your stringer is good if there is imbalance in the way the racket is strung .... 80% of the time POP goes the racket!

That's crazy, as far as I know, Yonex doesn't do that as:
    1. They will lose big money on customizing the racket; no way Yonex open a special line exclusively for him.
    2. It doesn't do them any good because it's still the red color MP88
    3. Slim10 will perform differently if there are extra weight on it. I have 2 slim20s and I know how delicate the rackets are.

Peter Gade has in Denmark a 'class' (or what to call it) where he is the coach..it's a project for younger elite badminton-players, the project is called 'team attack'..
Well I know a lot of them who is in that project, so they know Gade personal.. and it's for them I got it!
Actually if you're looking closer to pictures with his racket, you (I do) actually see the frame as a 'slime-frame' (like slim10)...mp88 isn't a slim-frame right?

Sorry I dont understand for 3.point???...extra weight?!

    1. Does Yonex do that sort of thing in tennis?
How much is it worth to Yonex's marketing for PG to use a Yonex racquet?

    2. Is the latest MP88 different to the MP88 you think Gade is using?
If not, then there is no eason for PG not to use the latest.
Being the red MP88 is evidence that it might be a Slim 10. It could be a Slim 10 they painted up for him when the red Mp88 was the ltest model.

    3. what extra weight do you mean?

I know alot of Yonex sponsored players...one of them are using mp88 and he says that there aren't any different betwen the two mp88-models..but the color ;)

Gade is a 'badminton-hero' in Denmark, I think it's worth a lot for Yonex's marketing.... it isn't worth a sh*t for yonex that he is playing with a racket which nobody can by, I think that's why the painted it like mp88. People might buy it cuz it's the same as Gade's....

    HiHi..still don't under stand 3.point

    guys,

    just the matter of color?
look at the their cones. the old 3ug4 model was marked with 16-20lbs 7-9kg but the new 3ug4 mp 88 was marked with 17-22lbs 7.5-9.5kg.
i just wonder they have exactly the same performance!
