Yay to both minions and Ahsan/Hendra. Though Susi's comment on how it seemed unfair because Ahsan/Henda and Fajar/Rian being equal, kind of bothered me.
After minions lose another match to endo/yuta it made me appreciate ahsan/hendra even more, how calm they're when they facing such good defense, and how good their shot quality is. they beat endo/yuta twice last year in a very slow hall
They are more experienced. Not to mention they used to play against LYD/YYS many times. Or in your opinion Endo/Wata is better than the Koreans?
Imop Endo/Wata have a more solid defense, but slightly worse flat and attacking game than LYD/YYS. They're more versatile around the back though, neither of them being a liability like LYD. Overall, they're different stylistically, and fairly suited to Ahsan/Hendra.
You think Endo/Wata is a worst match up for minions than LYD/YYS ? what do you think ? personally I think minions would rather play LYD/YYS than Endo/Wata, YYS was good but I always thought he's not really that discipline tactically, it's easier to bait him into some fast flat exchanges and his defense in general also not as strong as the other 3 players, although it's still strong. on the other hand, LYD/YYS is a worst match up for ahsan/hendra because like you said, they're slightly better in the flat and attacking game than yuta/endo.
Really hard to tell. LYD/YYS were pretty strong in the service situation, winning the attack a lot, and their solid defence could've been enough to put Markus under pressure. I think they'd have had some hard-fought matches for sure, if both pairs met in full flow. They're actually somewhat similar in their setup, with the back court player being clearly technically inferior, and also weaker in defence. Also they both served outrageously illegal under the old rules, both vying for the top spot in that regard Overall, I think Endo/Wata might be the slightly worse match-up with their improved defense in average to slow venues, whereas in fast venues LYD/YYS might be a harder opponent with their slightly stronger first 3-4 shots.
do you mean serving or returning serve? re. serving you see how lyd struggles now w the serve since the 1.15 rule? on the returning side endo/watanabe are both better at service return, scoring points right off the service return. i don't remember lyd/yys putting that much pressure on the opponent right off a service return.
