Anyone can give review on altius 03 power and control version. Both these racket score very high at racket review.com.
Hello, I have been playing with a Mizuno Altius 03 control for 2 months. The specs of the racket mentioned by the manufacturer are nearly ok. It is a 4U, a little head heavy (87.3 gr and 302 mm strung and with the original grip). It is not at all a stiff racket, but mid-stiff/ flexible shaft. Two characteristics bother me a bit, the grip too thin for me and the frame that lacks (a little) bit of stability but it also makes the racket easy to use (not bad points, it's just a personal preference). On the court the racket has only qualities. I found it easy, quick in the air with a little head heavy feeling. Clears are very easy, drop shots are accurate, the power in the smash is easy to get and easy is to reproduce regularly. Good short and long defense and very good net play. A very good all-around racket for intermediate players or even beginners. Advanced players will probably look for a stiffer racket and a slightly more stable frame unless they are looking for a cool easy play style. The racket is strung with BG80 at 11kg.
Mizuno JPX Reserve Edition Specs 3UG5 I replaced the original grip with overgrip Final weight 89gr Final balance point 310 (2mm stdev) 26x28 4knots, Exbolt 63 Will share my opinion tomorrow after few games
I play 5 matches this morning. This JPX RE (reserve edition) is totally different racket than JPX LTD. It is +2-3gr but not as heavy as JPX LTD extra stiff. The head weight? Its not so heavy, Astrox 88D 3U is way heavier on the head. But yes, you can feel the head weight, this is not even balance racket. The power is superb. I hit plenty smashes, and my partners and opponents also could tell, my smash is harder, my backhand clear is really effortless, all depends on your technique. In short, if you are at least on intermediate level, very likely you are going to like this racket so much. I gave this racket a 5 stars if price is not an issue. It cost me S$230.
Thanks alot for the review. Traded my racket for altius 03 power. Looking for control but to no avail Will test out the 03 power soon
There are new mizuno rackets up now. 1. prototype X-3 https://www.mizunobadminton-asia.com/product-page/prototype-x-3 2. JPX 8.9 https://www.mizunobadminton-asia.com/product-page/jpx-8-9
yea fleet/felet was doing that diamond frame like 3 years ago, it seems more and more brands start using big oems and generic molds, with just different colors
Finally have my hands on both altius 03 power and control.... Both have identical weight. Power more head heavy than control hence control feels lighter in the hands. Power seem to be more stable and pin point due to the titanium mesh on the t joint. Control doesn't have the titanium t joint. Overall I would prefer the power over control.
I have Altius 05 Pace. The original grip was removed, I put Yonex Aerobite string and cushion grip + rubber grip. The weight became 83 gr, BP 306mm. The Muscle Wave technology are on the each side and top of the frame. The frame is very slim. Standard size frame. The Shaft feels rather medium than flexible. The racket is very easy to swing, very fast. The power is there for good clears and smash (not as powerful as 88D Pro though)
Fortius 11 twins are out, replacing F10. So whos going to be brand symbol for this one considering Ahsan & Hendra now with Victor.
So I notice in their 2021/22 Catalogue...Mizuno has absolutely no head light racket. Not even one. What is up with that.
Their low end racket tend to be off spec, mostly to lighter side (Even most of their mid tier JPX Ltd weight around 84gr) Exception for Promax ZX3 which is around 97-98gr and 305-310mm bp
