Why in the hevck did Misbun let LZJ play in this tournament at all? Bad placement and not mature gameplay. Why don't he withdraw and train more?

He already withdrew from the German Open and All-England in order to 'train more'.

I agree that this is a very poor performance, losing to a China junior.

Not a very encouraging sign considering he is supposed to play 2nd MS for Malaysia.

Li Shifeng didn't do well in the junior circuit , so I didn't expect him to beat Lee Zi Jia whom I consider better than Leong Jun Hao.

Lu Guangzu overpowered the veteran Viet warrior, 35-year-old Nguyen Tien Minh. Indeed, Father Time spares no one.

Saw both Li Shifeng and Bai Yupeng play. I can't see either one winning the junior Olympics Gold whichever one is sent. IMHO it will probably go to Kunlarvut, Laskya or Kodai. Wang Zhiyi is China's only hope to win Gold. It is time to expose Gao Zhengze and Gu Junfeng to some international experience at the senior level in 2019.

Agree, both Li Shifeng and Bai Yupeng are not good enough, though the former is better.

As for Gao Zhengze, he's turning 19 on 29th May, so do Gu Junfeng on 22nd October, thus both will be ineligible to play the junior circuit and Youth Olympics.

INA Rinoy/Mentari, WJC 2017 Champion is cruising fine. How is LXR looking in the tournament?

What a joke, the shuttle from the adjacent court drops onto the Ct1 where Lu Guangzu is playing and the players as well as the umpire carry on as if they didn't know it ?! In the end, no let was called and LGZ lost the rally.

CHN MS, 18yr-old lefty ,Weng Hongyang, has potential, a player to watch, I think. He was leading for most of G1 against Iskandar until 18-all, apparently he was affected by IZ serving a bit too fast and was even warned once by the umpire to get ready faster. In G2, he simply lost his footing.

18-yr-old Han Yue upset the top WS seed in two straight sets, 21-11, 21-14. Remarkable.

Deng Xuan, last time I saw her was the Purple League. Is it the same person?
I didn't know she is that good.

Zhou Zeqi stole the match when it was almost certain-loss for him.

Zhou Zeqi was losing it in G3 and all of a sudden he fought his way back. Ihsan must be kicking himself.

Yes, the same person. She, Chen Xiao Jie, Yao Xue,
were the second echelon players behind the 4 Wangs and LXR. Yao Xue was given quite a lot of chances but couldn't make it. CXJ was doing fine but had to retire because of injuries. DX might had done a "Hu Yun", sitting out 3 years not playing for China so that she can achieve her Olympics dreams via Hong Kong. Just saying. I wish her well.

Incidentally she played for China in the first Youth Olympics in Singapore where she lost to a Thai, Sapsiree Taerattanachai, in the finals.

He played in AJC in 2016 with Sun Feixiang but was eliminated by a Korean and didn't take part in the WJC of the same year or last year. He now plays for Fujian if I am not mistaken.

Good and against a strong opponent too. Sad that we cannot see Xue Song (anymore?)

Suo Di, Liu Xin and Sun Yu too. All Asian junior champions, but sadly their talent has gone to waste
