Anyway, did you guys read about Momota/Yuki scandal from Badminton Planet? Looks like KM is risking another suspension. http://www.badmintonplanet.com/badminton-news/12861-kento-momota-could-be-in-trouble-again.html
From 18-8 to 19-17 and luckily Lakshya Sen prevails with 24-22, what a turnaround! With such a hefty lead the Indian young star seemed lost focus then Kodai Naraoka closed the gap and delivered big pressure to Sen, now one step closer to top podium in this quadrennial event. Goh Jin Wei lost narrowly in opening game, 19-21 then came back convincingly, 21-13 / 21-15 to eliminate Phittayaporn Chaiwan, the Thai looks good to seal bronze medal against Singaporean girl Jaslyn Hooi. Both CHN representatives, Wang Zhiyi and Li Shifeng outclass their semifinal opponent and will face the favourites Goh Jin Wei and Lakshya Sen respectively for gold medal contention. Use your common sense, and don't believe everything you read. As it is not even close to being an illegal act, Momota is hardly going to be suspended for having a woman in his room. If anyone were to be sanctioned, it would be Fukushima. After all, she was not in her room for the anti-doping test after having specified to JADA that she would be available at that time. As it happens, both players were given a verbal warning by the NBA, and that is the end of the matter.
Thanks for further explanation, brother! It would be a shame to see him in trouble again, after all what he have done until now.
Lakshya Sen lost focus and intensity at a crucial moment in game 3 (18-8) against Kodai Naraoka but woke up in time! H-H now 1-2. It was a physically and mentally, gruelling match and that might make a difference in the final against a fresh Shifeng Li.
I wonder how these kids from Asia and Europe who don't travel far distances across many time zones much cope with the jetlag.
I realized there's also a Relay Team event for badminton where each team is composed of a mix of players/pairs from various countries, therefore, not country vs country event. Incidentally, for the individual event, there are only the Men's Singles and Women's Singles , and both categories are restricted to only one player per nation quota, unlike the previous Youth Olympics, for example, The Nanjing Youth Olympics 2014,where there were two players per nation in both the singles categories.
Interesting matchup - Li Shifeng vs Laksya Sen. LS has a great chance of making history today - if he can hold his nerves.
