I know what you meant and I stand by that regulation about ceiling height is perfectly placed in the appendix since it isn't relevant to the definition of the game. Yes indeed, in Sweden we also need to follow health and safety regulations set by authorities more so than any BWF rules. That was exactly my point with my exaggerated example. The important thing is that the OP and everyone else doesn't think that any BWF "rule" is going to help in this matter. Use common sense and don't play when you think it is unsafe. /mats
Well i needed this info and so hit upon this link. Info as gathered from internet: https://www.sportsflooring.co.uk/sports-court-dimensions/ BADMINTON COURT MARKING court dimensions 13.4m (44′) long x 6.1m (20′) wide line colour white, width 38mm (1 1/2″) playing area – Club – 16.5m length x 8.5m width x 7.6m height playing area – International – 18m length x 10.5m width x 9.1m height
Lol here in indonesia it's for a different reasons.... 0.5m-1m side distance and 1m-2m back distance is very common....why? Well becoz if you give more space then the players renting the court that is resting waiting for his teammates playing will use that space for mini playing/warmup and the court owner wouldn't want that......they want you to rent more courts Personally i'm ok with 1.5m at the back and 1m at the sides....
In another thread there are a few video clips of doubles play, that's how you play - https://www.badmintoncentral.com/fo...e-the-players-service-is.182342/#post-2766165
