why kevin and markus? why not kamura/sonoda or Li/Liu? so much is put onto kevin markus like beating them is like winning the world cup. All these pairs are basically playing the same impatient style.
Indonesian fans can be a tad bit too vocal and unaccommodating sometimes, not only Danish players but anyone not from Indonesia are booed openly and asked to go home. It is a bit too much really. Remembered in the past when they lost in the Thomas Cup and the fans threw water bottles and all kinds of items onto the courts.
He's being really nice already, considering one idiot shouted "**** off Denmark, **** OFF!" to them.....
Oh...you heard that too. I thought I heard something like that too but wasn't sure. It was towards the end of the match.
Just a question, boe and mogersen are 34 and 37, which means 71 years old combined. Are they the oldest world number 1?
Never liked this pair because of their shitty attitude towards opponents, umpires, and line judges (as well as their collarbone-height serves), and today's 2017 French Open MD Final solidified it. At 17-17 in the 2nd game, Boe/Mogensen double hit the shuttle and umpire calls a fault. Knowing the point was over (all 3 players stop moving), Boe decides to continue playing and net kills the shuttle into his opponent at point-blank range, and then proceeds to smirk at the player he just hit. Boe claims he didn't hear the umpire call a fault, yet somehow Morgensen (who is farther away from the umpire's chair) heard him? Class act. Hope this pair never wins another title in their career.
ShuttleFlash should do a video compilation of their misbehaviors. I mean, there's a video about Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo "dismissing other players since 2014", so I think a video about the Danes would be fun, too.
"Net kills", really? This is a non-incident, where one player plays on, the Taipei player plays it back again (god knows why, if he heard the call, I think because he thought it was a bit funny), and Boe then taps it back at him - not kills it. The Taipei player totally wins an Oscar after that (which again I think was meant as a joke, alternatively it would be in order to make the ref penalize Boe, like a football player taking a dive). And Boe then smiles at him, obviously. Get on with it, please.
I am sorry but this has confirmation bias written all over it. - Almost all MD players have "collarbone-height" serves. Not all, but most. Boe's serve is among the worse, I agree. - Even if Boe knew he had touched the shuttle, I don't blame him for continuing the play. Name me one player (just one!) who has stopped playing in such a situation. Everyone on the circuit would continue. You see the same thing with wrong line calls regularly. - The "smirk".. you could not see the Taiwanese player's face in that moment. What I saw: Boe returns a smile from the Taiwanese and a lifted hand to apologise. They are smile because of the last few net shots they exchanged after they both knew the rally was over. - Shitty attitude towards opponents, umpires AND line judges? ... just wow
Well you have some pretty obvious confirmation bias too. Why do you assume that he was "returning a smile"? What we can see/hear is that Lee Yang shouted at Boe after Boe hit him with the shuttle, took a defensive stance and looked towards the umpire, who in turn went on to give Boe a verbal warning. And regardless of what happened, grinning after you had just hit your opponent, intentionally or not, is unsporting. And that's what Boe did, prior to the umpire talking to him. He does have shitty attitudes towards court officials. "Go back to India and get some glasses" ring a bell?
