Hahaha, now uncle Loh re-started the upset list. All the best uncle :D

Ya, I thought it deserves special mention especially for the victors.

14. Howard BACH/Tony GUNAWAN (MD#7) by Mads CONRADS-PETERSEN/Jonas RASMUSSEN
21-17, 16-21, 21-11 in 0:51

7 upsets for R1 and also 7 for R2!
What coincidence!

Wonder whether magical 7 will show up again in the QF tomorrow?

Well I've made a count for the QF and discovered that at least 10 seeds will fall by the wayside.

Why? Because these are the ten matches involving all seeded players/teams.

However for the purpose of identifying upsets, we should only count those ranked lower beating those ranked higher.

Who do you think will deliver today's QF upsets?

Consider not only the "seeded" matches (ie those involving all seeded players/teams) but also non-seeded players upsetting seeded ones.

Make your pick here. :D

We shall identify the winner who guess the highest correct number of QF upsets.

Kudos to Alamsyah who downed the popular Thai beau Boonsak in a gruelling 1hr 12min. But will he be able to do the same to compatriot Simon Santoso today? Remember SS completely demoralized Chen Jin yesterday, creating an upset along the way in almost the same duration of 1hr 13min. These are two of the three matches that lasted more than an hour! (Hope we don't have to revert to long hours like what we used to do for the 15-point scoring system, whereby you have to win the service before you can start scoring points.)

I think it will be difficult for Alamsyah as SS is ranked higher in the INA Team and he knows the former's game much better than Boonsak. But Alamsyah also knows SS's game as well. :D

Simon is a lot more stable than Alamsyah. Alamsyah celebrated way too early against Boonsak, almost paid the price yesterday.

I will most certainly support you on LD, otherwise we will miss the most highly anticipated encounter between LD and LCW in the SF!

And I will also miss that rare treat since I will be flying up to KL this evening and will watch only the SF and F. Surely you wouldn't want me to be disappointed? :D

(Wah now I'm starting to hear the loud chants :"Malaysia Boleh" and the drums banging and "trumpet" blowing by MAS cheer team and supporters. Sorry for LD, no such warm reception form CHN fans except the occasional showing of their national flag whenever LD wins a point.)

But I agree you are a little biased with Lindaweni, whom I've not seen before in action (?). It will be a very tough Mt Yihan climb for her although she has exceeded all expectations by eliminating seeded "Miss" Yippy! :D

Thank you. I think I'm going to enjoy my short stay in KL already.

BTW, I think you love the very tough looking giant "reptile" (?) komodos. Which reminds me that I should pay another visit to our S'pore Zoo and hope to see them again in the open. Maybe I should wait for the arrival of the two lovely pandas that China has agreed to loan to us. :)

Alamsyah is as stable as Simon, but at different layer :p

Care to elaborate why Alamsyah is a different player?

Is he faster?
He attacks more?
What is his favourite stroke, his most deceptive, his most devastating?
Is he better than SS at net play?
Better stamina?

Oh BTW, I think our komodos are a gift from INA. Thank you for such a rare specimen, a wonder for the benefit of our kids to witness in real life and not in the museum. :)
