i don't think it is impossible. LCW has slowly grown up in the past year. still a bit impatient like all youngsters. he has the best technique than all other Malaysian MS players past years/decades. a very complete player with very sterile techinque like what the Chinese are known for. with proper grooming (ie. Li Mao) i think he will go further than any other Malaysian have gone, and doing it more consistently too.

i am surprised that so many ppl think that way. i watch as much WD as MD. and while they are not as fast, they are as (if not more) tactical. the weaker offensive means that it is hard to penetrate using power alone, they need to start using their smartness on court to manipulate their opponent to expose a hole. if you understand this part, you won't find it boring anymore.

i agree kwun -the standard of play is good to watch in LD i think it is the all chinese clashes which helps contribute to the view that the games are boring:)

in a way it is true. even though from the technical point of view it is interesting like i said, but from the rivalry and fans point of view, there isn't a particular reason to cheer for one side or the other. unlike say, a LinD vs. Taufik match.

the fact that the Chinese WD players are so complete, ie, they can make all the shots with clinical accuracy doesn't help either, as now all the shots quality are really "to the book", and thus winning requires more smartness and consistency, which is not what the average joe badminton watcher can understand. if one is a badminton player, then one should appreciate each shot made in WD, as you can tell that each smash and drop and clear are done for a reason and purpose.

was playing Gran Turismo while LD was going on :D

LD chn vs chn is never exciting for me... but i do root for gao ling and her partner whenever she goes up against other LD pairs from other countries.

nice smiles from both chinese pairs up there on the podium... looks like they were just having fun

MD up next... i dunno who to root for... i like the chinese pair as much as i like candra/sigit :D

that's just the thing... watching chn vs chn WD is like watching a "how-to" video... BUT, watching them go up against other nationalities, now that's fun... clobbering time :D
