Wow, I don't know how Nishimoto meet Lee Chia Hao two time in 2 consecutive weeks.

    Wrong lottery system.

Satwik /Chirag pair retired. Satwik was seen showing his knee to the referee. Unfortunate.

No, but Koki is there. :)

Nishimoto, for his part, looked depressingly unconvincing in his win over Chia Hao Lee today. Japan's A Team appears to be facing a serious crisis across the board.

Kaori Imabeppu having to be told to actually get up from her chair and help (and then doing fxxx all of actual helping) while her injured player lies on the floor crying inspires great confidence in the Japanese coaching staff.

Is that what happened to Gunji? I missed the second half of game 3 and wondered about the retirement.

Yes, as @lurker said. Gunji couldn't walk anymore and was wheeled out on a strecher. Looked rather serious.

I just now watched the scene and noted that Gunji looked fairly physically distressed in the three or four points prior to the accident. She was doing really well though; what a shame. Here's to a quick recovery.

Concur. Kevin Gordon's sport ultimate destination is Olympic Games. He is familiar with Spain (used to train in Madrid https://www.latimes.com/sports/la-xpm-2011-jul-15-la-sp-us-open-badminton-20110715-story.html ) and he still performs well in tournaments (beating BWF #31 Brian Yang in Pan Am Individual Championship 2022). This 2024 Olympic Games might be his last effort.

Seems like people are slipping a lot in this tournament. Christo Popov just slipped pretty badly and needed to have a spray.

Zilberman serving at 8-12 on 3rd set. Score was still 7-12, not updated. Antonsen lifted out at 14-7. Zilberman now has 8-14 when he supposed to have 9. He's not even protesting. How could a player lose track of the score like this? Absolutely ridiculous situation from both the umpire and the player.

Honestly not too sure of the competency of the umpires and line judge. Watanabe vs Popov second game at 8-8, Popov clearly lifted wide but line judge called in.

Crazy rally at 11-9 in the first game from He Ji Ting. Drops his racquet and then plays the next shot with the handle. :D

If you ask me, there is nothing special about nishimoto. Srikanth should cut down errors. Nishimoto wins the game with srikanth' s errors. Unfortunate.

Why is there coaches in the match between praveen/melati and rehan/lisa? I know the former are independent but afaik Indonesia usually don’t coach again compatriots
