I live in Lexington, but can be in Lynchburg every Sunday after the summer is over. I would love to play with a high intermediate/ advanced badminton player. I'm better at doubles, but can play singles as well...

I've been here for almost one year. I never found a place to play badminton.

What about tennis courts? Would it be possible to bring my own net and play there?

I only played badminton before. I am also thinking of switching to tennis. If you have a net, We need find a court. YMCA has courts, but they have schedule only for other programs. You may talk to them, but you need membership to YMCA first. There is a church in Lynchburg. I went there one time for table tennis. They have court for basketball. They are able to rent it for $50 one time. If there are a lot of players, it is affordable.

I meant as in bringing special tape to mark up the tennis court and bring my own badminton net and somehow put it there. Right now I am in Crimea, Russia and we did that in a school gym, and it's working fine. I've never really had any real interest in tennis... I know of a couple free tennis courts we could use

I haven't found anything, but we could find a tennis court and turn it into a badminton court with tape and a net.

I only played on wooden floor before. That's a smart idea. But, it gotta be an indoor tennis court. It should be easier to find a tennis court (I didn't try before). I would be glad to join your guys if you can make it.

It doesn't have to be indoor... I've played both, and if you get too comfortable playing indoor, the slightest gust of wind can throw you completely off, so it is good to be versatile. But for fall and winter, I agree. Could someone find a free indoor court?

Well, I thought we could use a tennis court and with special tape, mark out the badminton court, and stretch our own net over it... maybe the tennis courts behind Riverside park? I would have to check if they are open on Sundays....

I would, but that's the problem. Where I live, there is no one that is seriously interested in badminton. We could play singles?

I actually have a friend living in residence with a volleyball court. They adjusted the net and played badminton for a couple of times. If you are interested, I can ask him if he can play this Sunday. I might not able to play this Sunday. What is your level anyway?
