You've forgotten that Ronald could be an obstacle in place of Lin! :D

Maybe some other players have worked harder than Peter and deserve the Gold too. It is really difficult to compare. Many factors come into play in an important match, as you've just witnessed the battle between Ronald and Lin. How a player can control all these factors and put them to his advantage in a match really counts a great deal. :D

Frankly, I think the top half is now thrown open and any of the seeded players certainly have a chance to win, now that Ronald has done them a service by knocking out Lin.

It's a surprise, but not totally unexpected. Any of the top players could win the medal - Bao, Chen H, WCH, Taufik, Peter Gade, RSusilo. I have voted Bao to win the medal and let's see how he fares in this tournament. [IMG]

yah, so much for prediction from journalists that this time the #1 seeded will take the gold

I'm sure Susilo had studied and trained hard to beat top opponents like LD where as LD had prolly paid lot less attention in his training and preparation against Susilo.

Like Kwun, I just woke up several min ago and I am dismayed, disenchanted, in dis-array, and most of all dissapointed.

Super Dan, stay strong.. keep supporting ur teammates from the sidelines. You still completely owned your discipline for a half year period!!

Now, I just hope LYB doesn't bring out the whip! :(

i must say, i was shocked more because Lin Dan was supposed to win, and not because i am a Chinese supporter. it was said long ago that Lin might have peaked too early in the year for playing well in the Olympics, and i think our prediction came true. but no one can say that they are not surprised by the result considering how strong Lin has been so far and that Susilo is only a player at the edge of the radar despite the Japan Open win.

but as many have said, Susilo played beyond expectations and i think it is a great win! the field is now wide open as the shadow formed by Lin has been lifted.

yet again, the curse of the number one seed has made its toll.
