A legend in the sport, it will take a long time no doubt, Nicol David should win the female MVP..she is still unbeaten this year

..to complete and match all the possible individual major titles (OG, WC, AE and even AG), Taufik can still do it as he just needs to win the AE. But to garner the same amt of individual major titles like LD...hehe, good luck to whoever can overtake or even match his achievements in the future..;)

And LD is not even done yet....still 1.5 years to go and there is another OLY, 2AE and 1WC, so how many of the remaining 4 majors would LD add to his collection. That is why I said he will be the greatest player in the history of the game based on achievements. If LD wins another OLY, then it will be very difficult to overtake or match his success.
But if LD fails in OLY12, all it takes one very good and must be young player (like another young LD) to lead CHN after LD retires and with some luck and good health and the key is with no opposing superstars (no LCW) from DEN, MAS, KOR and INA, that person can give LD a run for his money but it will be very difficult and as of now, I cannot see such a person exists even in CHN.

There is only 1 MVP. Tang Yi (one of the finalists) is a female swimmer. :)

Agree. Real badminton lovers should be proud of this achievement by a badminton player.

This kind of award are always difficult for ball-games athletics. Due to the nature of the sports, they could only achieve 2 gold medals at most and could not have things like world record breaking as talking point. Whereas athletes for track & field and swimming could be able to fight for records and more medals up to 7 or 8 like what was seen in the last OG.

WOW!!! A badminton player (this sport does not count for the most favourite sports in the Games and/or in general, and even in CHN, doesn't it?) can win the MVP ??? That's amazing.

This time round, maybe it's for the first time a badminton player > swimming, athetic, gymnastic, basketball, etc players in the Games (AG). How could it be? Just can't imagine... Really A big recognition for badminton.

    Congratz to Super Dan!
Really appreciate his achievement (MVP) !!!
