I never really liked him. People said "who cares about his attitude" and for a moment, i agreed, but now, hes gone too far.
Regardless of whether he's a charity worker in his spare time, I think it's pretty fair to think less of Lin Dan for resorting to physical violence. The way you phrase it, you make it seem like it's the people that are horrified by his actions that are in the wrong, rather than the perpetrator himself. By virtue of badminton being an individual sport [singles, I mean] it breeds egoism. Whatever kind of sulkiness or arrogance it is that produced this is an element of many top players in individual sports.
Don't worry, it was just a bit of delicious irony on cooler's part. Read a few more threads on this forum that he's "contributed" to and you'll see what I mean. Internets is serious business.
First, you must first state how Lin Dan's wrongdoings affect the community. By the law, he is free. But again, it is significantly our right to like or dislike him and his actions. I am not Lin Dan forever! types but still, he has every right to be himself. Well, i'd say the same goes to other players in individual sport.
this thread is regarding LD and MP achievement in olympic 2008. now it becomes flaming no where..... lock?
I am not saying what LD did was right, but his intention was not to kill someone. He was simply get the emotion take over his cool, under such an intensive moment. Well, if any one of us in the final point of a 5 star open match, I guess everyone will be pretty intensed, especially the bad calls bothers you the entire day. Let's separate the emotional athletes with the criminal gangs. Let me ask you, which baseball hall of fame never charged the mount or ever involved in a team brawl in his lift time? Which hocky greats never got into a fist fight on ice? Which NBA players never getting into a trash talk or even a shoveling match? If you judge from the moral standard, yes, they are wrong. Especially wrong when millions of kids treating them as role models and watching them day and night in front of TV. However, they are all human beings, and most of them are young. So, mistakes could be made, but you need to evaluate that under special situation.
You're free to like whoever you like, and regardless of how much crap you can type up on the internet, claiming it's "proof", you'll never be able to change other people's opinions. Let's just let this thread die...
