Lol, it does look monstrous :)

But I think being on the edge of a wide angle lens stretches the subject a bit...

You remind me Arsène Wenger. He once said that teams from Premiere League didn't 'dare' to fight against MU,but they would give everything to win their matches against Arsenal :D

I predict LD to give in to let WZM or THW win to boost their rankings.

No way, Lin Dan would certainly want more ranking points to keep both Olympic pretenders, WZM and THW, at bay. My only concern is Lin Dan's fitness in the second of the back-to-back tournament, esp when he has just come out of the recent poor form, and also ( I'm reluctant to say) the possible dubious Korean judges if what blabl told us is largely true as SWH is his opponent tomorrow.

Precisely, makes no sense to me - helping his two younger colleagues who are eyeing his OG spot in view of Lin Dan's recent awful results and terrible form ? Who in his right mind would do that.

I would like to add that no particular court has been selected for LD vs SWH match..And if they play on Court 3 or 4...Then who knows how many IN's will be ruled OUT and how many OUT's will be called IN...Hope they play on watchable court because even blabl,a Korean is accepting that some trickery can be used in favour of Korean SWH...Hope 'mysterious' drift conditions don't take place

Yesterday I watched the JPN Open MS final. The delaying tactics were really obviously and annoying / distracting. I guess for the enemy and for the audience. He wasn't fit enough to keep the high pace which Viktor Axelsen was forcing, so LD tried (successfully) to interrupt the high pace of game and rest as much as possible between the points.

I'm not sure if his (massive) slower and reacting style of play will be enough to reach the finals at RIO2016. Every shot must be perfect placed if he intends to continue this way of playing badminton.
I don't like Viktor Axelsen really, but it was the first time I wished he won this final, since he was the game maker. Some easy errors were the main reason why he lost against a not so brilliant Lin Dan at the JPN Open.

    Viktor Axelsen on Lin Dan:

He played really well when he was down,” said Axelsen. “I struggled to find high pace and to get the attack. His lifts were of very good quality and that made it hard for me to get anything to work with. He played some good counters and some surprising shots. I tried to attack, but his shots were of great quality. He played a more clever game, didn’t do many unforced errors.

Yes, I agree. Think he just got a bit nervous and let a few simple errors sneak in.

Yes, from the mid-game interval in game three on, Axelsen was too hectic (shot choices, footwork), his composure and calmness was gone. He lost a lot of points very quickly then.

I watched the game too. I thought Axelsen looks more tired than LD especially second half of the third game. So, mistakes followed when he was tired.

Watched the Japan Open final; surprised Lin Dan got to the finals the way he played. I thought the match was VA's to win but he made some stupid errors and let LD back in. Japan was a weird tournament with high ranking players booted out way too early (esp. Momota as home favourite).

The win will give his confidence a boost and put him back on the map in terms of Rio qualification; but I'm still concerned about his form and not entirely confident that he has what it takes to go far in Rio.

His loss to Son Wan-ho aggravated my fears. Regardless, happy about the 1-2 between Lin Dan and Chen Long to win back-to-back tournaments in the Japan-Korea stretch.
