DL's smashes weren't deadly. Most of them were very inside the sidelines and within range to be retrieved. JOJ was probably injured. Against another opponent with a better defence, the shuttle will come back and he will be done.

Congratulation to Darren for winning the title in style :). I already said a few months back that he will perform but someone suggest to send him to GP level or lower, quite humorous I must say.

Anyway, Darren can continue to absorb more tournament experience and develop himself. Dont need to get all pressure in upcoming tournament.
Most importantly, stay injury free and good luck.

Daren Liew can do a 'Yong Hock Kin' , who also played well in his mid career last time. He often lost to the world top 5 players but he did farely well against the rest of the pack.

it is hard to happen unless is in GPG or GP tournament, SS and SSP might difficult as besides LCW, others like Liew Daren, Chong Wei Feng, Arif etc need to improve their rankings by getting into at least top 20...

Come on, viktor is still young.. He's just 18;) Yup, can see from his face that he's quite nervous in the final....making lots of errors and his footwork is not as smooth as he used to be.. But on the other hand, liew darren played with much confidence and very steady throughout the match.. Well deserved victory.. Congrats;).. More hard challenges awaits him after this...

Throughout these past few tournaments, it appears Daren has the style of a counter-attacker, kind of like LCW a few years back. His defense/movement is not as good as LCW's, but it seems he already developed his pace-making part of the game and has a useful smash, which bodes well for his future.

Since he's already won an SS, GP level and lower won't be a problem isn't it? Maybe Daren could come down to Kuching IC next, compete or not, see if ppl wants his autograph? :D
