I know.. my photographs are poor and disgraceful :(. They are taken with my Sony Ericsson Cybershot C905 and I have not really play around and optimize the settings. Maybe that's the result from a mobile phone cam limitations. Sealman's pics are really superb and sharp.

Anyway I am sure there will be a few BCers who will take more pics as the tournament progresses.

For the past Singapore Opens, the Yonex staff at the stringing booth were always very busy. Today I saw an almost empty Li-ning stringing booth. Wonder if the stringing were not up to the expectations of the players or were the players' racquets handed over to Yonex for stringing.

Kason Shuttles not up to the mark?

In the Lee Chong Wei and Andrew Smith match, shuttles were changed almost every point. At one stage an exasperated Lee Chong Wei helped himself to the shuttles from the service judge and went through several shuttles before selecting a suitable shuttle. He hit a high shot to test the shuttle's flight before proceeding with the match.

Earlier at one stage he even shook his head apparently with the quality of the shuttle when Smith went for another shuttle change.

Maybe we shd gv Li Ning some more times. After all, this is only their second sponsored tournament after Sudirman Cup. I would say almost all the shuttlecocks are made in China, it would be easy task for Li Ning to find a good factory to produce their shuttles. Hopefully, when the tournament reached semi-final and final and everybody are watching the games on tv, the players change the shuttles every single point. That would be ashamed!

China's racquets are not being strung at the stadium.
The team has installed their own stringer at the hotel.
Of course, the Li Ning logo needs to be applied as well ;)

Moreover, this year, the stringing service is not complimentary.
A fee is charged for every racquet - but it's a discounted fee.
The stringing machine is a Pacific make - and the strings are Yonex.
Only Singapore is getting its Li Ning racquets strung here.

In the final, Yonex didn't do well at all.
It brand presence was rather scarce too.

MD - Head / Carlton beat Yonex / Yonex
MS - Li Ning beat Gosen
WS - Head beat Li Ning
WD - Li Ning / Li Ning beat Yonex / Yonex
XD - Li Ning / Li Ning beat Li Ning / Li Ning
