It seems that no one knows why INA has this tournament scheduled on May 27-31 in Jakarta....It is LG Asia masters with prize money US$ 200,000.00..even some ex official did not know...weird!
More information: This tournament will not have ranking points. It is invitational tournament. Only the best 16 players will be invited : Disciplines: Men Single, Men Doubles and Mix only. The organizer is hoping to take this tournament around Asia and hope all players will be participating after Sudirman Cup ( Guangzhou)
Oooo... I see... If they successfully invited the top 16 players/pairs of each category mentioned [MS, MD, & XD], then they will have more appeal than the SS Finals... [in my eyes]...
Yeah, I also see it in BWF Calendar, another new annually invitational tournament like Copenhagen Masters?!
Aaawww.. ..aaawww, maaaan, and i wanted to see Taufik win the MS title & take home the big purse money (since probably no top MS players will be present)..
I think it can be cancelled.. Actually one of PBSI official proposed this idea last year...that person did not follow up thru as been told that no sponsor was willing to do so...then suddenly, another PBSI official followed it up but they did not ask for the fund up front to secure this tournament..thats all I heard...( not sure if it is the story behind the postponed tournament)
