I agree about MO not being very prestigious, but LD chose to come this time :) If he continues coming in the next years, MO can very well become an important tournament.

Oh...... LCW did won the China Open. However his opponent use one of the worst underhand tactic in badminton to turn the match. Lets put it this way, Bao is good but LCW had a 7:3 record against him at that time. The odds are way against Bao.

Chen Jin....... I think he lost his passion after being in Lindan's shadow for so long. When he first came up at the age of 21 and blew away most of the top player, I figure this guy will be the next big thing but his skill stagnated. The older Bao is still even making progress now compare to Chen Jin. Too bad his career might be shorten because of injusries.

hmm, but today win over chen jin surely tells us a different story.
Yes, based on his results thus far till the semi final, he has yet to drop a single game and all matches finish below 40 minutes. That can tells u how good and how high his top form are in this open.;)
    Your prediction is correct!
Luckily our journey with him didn't end here. Our journey with him in this tournament will only end 2moro!

yes, agree. That surely spice up my spirit to watch those match though. It's getting really challenging;):p Let's hope this new year the 'trend' of losing early after winning a title won't be happening again.
    or 'whitewashed'?:p

2010 Korean Open Mens Singles Final: Lee Chong Wei-vs-Peter Gade

    .
Glad to know that Lee Chong Wei has defeated Chen Jin rather easily at the Semi-Finals.

To continue our journey with Lee Chong Wei at the 2010 Korean Open, we shall list all his results:-

    Round 1: Wednesday 13-Jan-2010
    Chong Wei LEE [1][IMG][MAS] defeated [IMG][ENG] SMITH ANDREW 21-4, 21-14 (25 mins)

    Round 2: Thursday 14-Jan-2010
    Chong Wei LEE [1][IMG][MAS] defeated [IMG][GER] Marc ZWIEBLER 21-18, 21-8 (37 mins)

    Quarter-Finals: Friday 15-Jan-2010
    Chong Wei LEE [1][IMG][MAS] defeated [IMG][THA] Boonsak PONSANA [8] 21-14, 21-10 (32 mins)

    Semi-Finals: Saturday 16-Jan-2010
    Chong Wei Lee [1][IMG][MAS] defeated [IMG][CHN] Jin Chen [3] 21-11, 21-13 (37 mins)

    Finals: Sunday 17-Jan-2010, we shall have;
Chong Wei Lee [1][IMG][MAS] - [IMG][DEN] Peter Hoeg Gade [2]

PG said he is not feeling well at this 2010 Korean Open (fever). But he still managed to arrive at the Final. :):):) Btw, this is not an excuse from PG; we do not wish to have some BCers coming in to say PG is giving excuses if he is to be defeated by LCW.

Anyway, with LCW's excellent form, it appears that he has a very good chance to win his first ever Korean title.

    How good is LCW?

I think he is coming of age. He is just awesomely fast and a mile smarter and more mature than he ever was.

He is now able to read a game better than he could two years ago and make quick decisions that he never made before. He is so dangerous that his opponents fear him when he gets going - he can unsettle them with his variations in tactics and speed.

Today, we will see some of that on TV (those in Korea have already seen his demolition of Boonsak and Chen Jin) when he will avenge his KO defeat last year by the evergreen Peter Gade.

However, I will reserve this for the MO when I think he will meet more of the bests and show that LCW has arrived.:D

If he does very well this year, I think this will be the peak for him. There won't be any improvement from next year onwards because time is catching up with him. If he wants all his great titles, this is the year, or he won't get another chance as good as this. ;)
