Ahh, but we have to remember that Chen Long is not that good ;)
Although peter gade had lost to lower ranked opponents recently...
    (Jan O' and Dicky Palyma?)
Would Jan O' be better than Chen Long?
As for Chen Jin, he is certainly in good form seeing this previous round matches. LCW will not have an easy time. I'm expecting a 3 setter and a 50-50 chance.

That's probably CHN's strategy of withdrawing BCL. A fresher and younger CL against a tired PG.

Yes, I agree. PG's age is probably catching up with him and Chen Long will provide a powerful challenge. However, I think because of PG's experience and gameplay, if he manages to play averagely, I think he would beat Chen Long.
    Still, go Chen Long!

If they wanted to withdraw someone, why didn't they withdraw Chen Long instead of BCL. I think BCL would have a better chance then Chen Long.

They probably gave Chen Long a chance to prove himself. Also, maybe they don't think BCL can save his gas for a 3-setter??? I think the former is more likely, though.

Chen Long is a good CHN player

    .
Chen Long is a good CHN player.

It's just that he is not consistent at this stage of his tournaments performance.
IMHO, Chen Long will become CHN's No.1 player in years to come.

I have to agree with that. However, I think to be a good player, you have to be consistent too :p Which is why I don't think of Fuzzy as good...
He has the potential to beat LCW and TH but yet can get the exit in early rounds.

Give Chen Long a chance to prove himself

    .
    This is true.

I believe that BCL has played PG more times than CL has. So it's decided to give CL a chance to meet our great Peter Gade. ;););)

Chen Long is young and upcoming player. China wants to groom him and give more ranking points.
BCL is injured and may not be competitive anymore, perhaps in the books of CHN.

On another note, if BCL's QF opponent was not CL, he probably would have to play.

Perhaps BCL has a BIGGER role to play at the 2010 Malaysian Open

    CJ is getting BBQ'ed!

China still needs LD as much as Malaysia needs LCW.

It was a red face CJ after he was bbq'ed. There is not short-cut in this game. Either you compete regularly or you become less sharp like CJ.

Lee Chong Wei beat Chen Jin very convincingly 21-11; 21-13.
So far, the opponent that made him forfeit the most points was Marc Zwiebler(21-13 average from 21-18; 21-8 wins)
    followed by
Chen Jin and Boonsak Ponsana (21-11; 21-13 and 21-10; 21-14 respectively, 21-12 average)
    and Andrew Smith (21-4; 21-14 with a 21-9 average)

It means nothing. LCW often takes it easy against lower ranked players and allows them to take more points than they actually can.

If you look at Lee Chong Wei's record last year, he hasn't lost to Chen Jin or Bao Chunlai in the entire 2009.

    He beat:
Lin Dan - 1x (but lost 3 times)
Pater Gade - 3x (but lost 1 time)
    Chen Jin - 1x
    Bao Chunlai - 1x
    Taufik Hidayat - 5x
    Park Sung Hwan - 4x

But he did lose a number of times to the dark-horses like:
Chen Long - 1x (the infamous India Open first-round exit)
Jan O' Jorgensen - 1x (also first-round exit at the China SS, after winning the HKG SS)
Nguyen Tien-Minh - 1x (second-round exit at the Singapore SS)
Simon Santoso - 1x (second-round exit at the Japan SS)

Lol, I don't expect Taufik to continue posing a true challenge. He had a pathetic season last year.
