They claimed the World Junior crown without dropping a single game. Their arch rival in Junior level is Di Zi Jian / Wang Chang from China (World Junior Champion 2018), which already turned senior last year and achieved mixed success.
Thailand Masters Super 300 is the third tournament in senior level for them. In qualification round they beat Thai's Jogjit/Tantiananul, and in R32 they beat another INA pair Gutama/Ishafani. They will meet Koga/Saito from JPN tomorrow
Several nice result for 500 and 1000 level superseries… looking forward for the rest of the year’s tournament, esp. in Indonesia. I’ ve watched them performing well in Thailand Open (lost to Olympic silver medalist; kinda expected) and German Open (lost to their senior). still a lot to learn and experience for this 20 year-oldpair, and only consistency counts on a bigger stage to be a world-beater. Semangat!!!
Congratulations for second BWF Super 500 titles for Carnando / Marthin 2023 Daihatsu Indonesia Masters Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin (INA) vs He Jiting/Zhou Haodong (CHN) 21-17 21-16
The Babies advanced to the quarter-finals of the Thailand master 2023, they have a big chance to win their second title in 2023.
Good progress overall for Carnando / Marthin. They should be INA no 2 within this year behind Alfian / Ardianto, with Fikri / Maulana and Rambitan / Riyanto also in competition, and if Rambitan could find his form back after long injury. Hope all the pairs will get the experience they needed this year and will be ready for 2024. It's been too long for INA MD
Back to back title for the Babies, Daniel "the machine gun" Marthin strikes again, bang....bang....bang..
Perhaps I'm one week late to congratulate Leo/Daniek,,, Also Welcome to Top 10 bwf WR MD! The progress has been very good for this pair,,, I think the next challenge if they can reach at least SF consistently in many WT tournaments in 2023,,, also if they can consistently beat many top 5 top 10 ranked pair like Aaron Chia/SWY, Liu/Ou, Shetty/Rankireddy, Lee Yang/WCL, etc. Daniel Marthin smash is the best/hardest in INA (if not the world as well),,, I think Daniel can also learn from Ahsan and Rian Ardianto as well to have as many variation with chop/drop/stick smash etc... But seeing many full-body jump smash from Daniel is just wow,,, And for Leo, always set up nicely for Daniel in front of the net,,, but maybe trying a bit of flair/trickery like Kevin SS or Fajar Alfian will be more fun!
Daniel has made changes in controlling his emotions, not only continuously throwing smashes but also giving variations of dropshots (Coach Aryono). Homework for Leo is to increase his power and speed. Currently Daniel is like a harley davidson while Leo is still a RX King (a Yamaha motor cycle). Of course it takes gradual time to achieve it (Coach Herry IP)
