His whole court attitude is the problem. Every time LZJ went to G3, he lost all the thinking skill. How many times must we see the same match over and over again? Lose again Axelsen at All England 19-21, lost to Sen 19-21, to Lu Guangzu 19-21, to Naraoka 19-21. All in third game.
LZJ's defence is so bad right now, it feels like he had not been training at all. Attack: A- good but still full of outs and net hits. Defence: B- Not as consistent as it used to be Shots quality: C+, pretty bad especially hitting outs and hitting nets. Movement: B, looks clunky and waste too much energy
Pretty much. Already lost to LSF in 3 game again. Too many loose defences and low quality shots. Another early round exit for World Number 2.
LSF was all over the net, knowing that LZJ would just lift. And the strategy of 80% smashes work for LSF, just like against NTY was just happy to lift.
LZJ: 'Mati pun matilah. (no regret, if dead - dead)" Not sure what his problem is, the mental, the attitude, or so on.
i have said it before. He has to kill his inner demons. No super brilliant coach nor super high charge 'posse'. will solve this problem. If I remember correctly, everybody goes through this existential phase.. including LCW and VA. Mark of a true champion: win this battle first
It gets bad to worse. He might have to pay a lot of compensation to his old coach. His manager should have flagged up this problem unless it’s written in the contract that there’s a one or two month notice period. https://www.nst.com.my/sports/badminton/2023/01/874131/indra-sue-zii-jia-following-breakup
Trouble brewing every week with LZJ. I mean, if LZJ wronged the contract by immediately dropping Indra, then might as well pay and be done with it. It's not like he's got no cash.
I might be wrong, but LZJ indeed having some attitude problem & i suspect him parting ways with Indra & him leaving BAM is due to the same reason. He can't stand being pressured to make changes to his game play or train harder thus he decided to just leave. It's quite a risky move for a young player with big potential like him to just drop his coach and go fully independent & rely on a friend who isn't a professional coach to coach. I hope I'm wrong as it's kinda sad to see a player with such a great potential sliding down non stop in an early age. LZJ has everything IMO, great attack, great reach, good stamina he really needs to polish this in order to go further.
