LCW needs to be ruthless and just forget about pressure.

Losing is nothing honestly but you can't let the defeat affect you in future tourneys.

It's like Taufik kept losing to LCW in the past few years. But when it matters most, no prize for guessing who perform better.

No shame in defeat for Kien Keat-Boon Heong, says Rexy

NATIONAL doubles coach Rexy Mainaky wants Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong to walk tall despite the defeat by Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng in the world championship men’s doubles final yesterday.

Rexy said that there was no shame in the defeat that extended Malaysia’s wait for a first world champion.

Yes, we missed a good chance to win a world title. But I am still happy with their performances,” he said.

“I saw their real character here in Paris. They showed real fighting spirit and was enjoying what they were doing. This was missing for some time.

And I am happy to see their return to form here and pleased to be with them to witness them play in their first world championship final.”

Rexy added that the duo would have to learn to be more steady and to look forward to major tournaments, among them the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, world championships and the Olympic Games, with more confidence.

We will sit down together and analyse what happened here and work towards making them stronger. There are several more challenges for them,” he said.

The competition in the men’s doubles is still open and we will work on Koo and Tan to make them stronger than the others in the next one year leading to the Olympic Games. That is our next big goal.”

Same old story... jinxed... cursed... back injury... cold feet/hand... etc... I guess not everyone is born a legend, and most likely this is the case here...

Try harder next yr (at the age of 30)... For this yr, he should focus on Asian Games at GZ China... and many are eyeing this MS title as well... namely LD, CJ, Taufik and ParkSH...

    BOLEH... BOLEH... BOLEH... :)

I just need to ask why they would consider the Commonwealth Games a major tournament in badminton lol...

It's like having a football (soccer) tournament without Europe and South America... and possibly even Africa...

Agree with U... Commonwealth Games is really NOT a major event, particularly for Badminton. Not big deal at all, I must say... I guess Rexy just slipped it (no harm intended, I guess)... lolx, among these four major tournaments, I think MAS only won the GOLD in Commonwealth Games (I could be wrong here)... :) This is sad indeed, as one of the badminton superpower houses.

So, after so many expectations here and there. Bath training stint and whatever training... some NSC officials also there supporting mas team..
THE FINAL RESULT: 1 silver medal.

I would consider this as a FAILURE.

    No offense george......
but I have to disagree with you. Not to be harsh, but do you sincerely expect CPS/GLY, Hafiz Hashim and Wong Mew Choo to deliver medals? Do you really still believe in those players? Or do you expect KKK/TBH to get the gold?

So to you, malaysia is not a badminton power house la?;)

and as for undeadshot, i'm actually expecting koo/tan or LCW to get the gold medal this time. Unfortunately they fail, else, it would be MISSION ACCOMPLISHED:cool:.

Anyway, Koo/Tan was just 1 step away from winning the WC yesterday. What a wasted chance.
