The problem with the back up shuttlers is not new. Its only the first time someone prominent chose to highlight the issue to the media and spoke in a harsh tone. The main point of the whole discussion is what BAM gonna do or could do about it knowing the main problem that haunts this batch of players is their negative attitude. In China they are long gone. Even HH is make to retire long ago. Now the question is given due time and umpteen chances but still no improvements from these players, what decision should be made by BAM? The root cause here is BAM's system and implementation as a whole and not the players because players come and go. Its always the association that governs the players.
It is true but why it only happens to young Malaysian shuttlers? There are young people everywhere in the world and I dont see it affected Chen Long and company. I dont see Indonesian young players as bad in term of performances. It is not a problem at all to Japan and Korean backups. Generally yes but not necessarily.
Although LCW seems to be shifting the weight to the players, I would still like to put part of the blame on the coaches for not enforcing rules and ticking off the backup players. Don't they have to give in reports on the players monthly?
Went to a site visit today and came by a company whose owner was once just a mail boy but now own a company with a MYR5 million in profit... his story of our young generations nowadays is a match to our Dato A's statement and I do believe so too... They lack enthusiasm... don't want to study well but dream of working in the office, wearing smart office attire when a carpenter work could earn them MYR5,000 a month... but they refuse just because the pressure from the work itself... there is indeed no short cut in earning success... but I guess they prefer to ignore the fact... Back to our back-up shuttlers... I only wish BAM takes the same action as our Takraw assoc - dropped the underperformers from the national team - because I think even the reports from the coaches must have mentioned how these shuttlers perform on daily basis as well as during tournaments but BAM is the one having the final say... even if their reports didn't say so, BAM should realize about the situation and act accordingly and not keep feeding those lazy bums... there is also a limit for giving chances... *sigh* oh, btw, how to tick off dead stick la? ^_^ I do think they got that everyday, that's why cannot stand lol
Good thing you mentioned MS, as MD back up known to be very hardworking As for the 5 muskeeters, as far I'm concerned, already switch focus to Iskandar & gang ages ago. The other problem is, if they want to resign, cannot, can happen like TCS case.
kinda rhink of it...the back up shuttlers never did crack at all o.o....but they are still good players~
Right there! Are those young players naturally born lazy? No! Then what is the reason behind the change of attitude?
or maybe they are lazy? success takes both talent and hardwork. talent will bring people so far and they need to patch up the rest with hardwork.
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going . I think that LCW is complaining about Malaysian back-up players not having great fighting spirit like what we have witnessed in the players like Wong Choong Hann and Wong Mew Choo. Malaysian players are usually known to have laid-back attitude. It should be "When the going gets tough, the tough gets going". But the MAS back-up players have not been showing this type of attitude lately. .
the worst is, they r not able to beat habis hashim which is way off his best for many years. to sum it all, after the retirement of LCW, there will be no successor that can take over his place and by that time, it is a doom in MAS MS players. unless there is a miracle but which is very unlikely.
i think those back-up players already forgot that they r not young anymore and should not c themselves as merely 2nd string to those elite players. they should buck-up before being kick out.
the question is not only one or two ms players but five of them. they were young top players before in malaysia but why they become stagnant? now they even have hendrawan as their coach and i would say, a dedicated one. when he first came to mas and couldn't move them he would find the reasons from misbun. but before that in early 2008 their fitness level was not there and it took almost a year for misbun to work on that. earlier this year i understand if talking about physically off court, most of the players are fitter, faster and show more power than lcw so when i sumed it all up i also don't know what happen to them
..not a surprise at all..i think a lot of what LCW mentioned has and had been discussed to ad nauseam in this forum..if anything, he's basically confirming what some of us had mentioned and discussed abt the current MAS badminton..
Habis Hasbeen is still the no.2 in msia... so sad to know so... Is BAM part to blame for these Jr. Laziness, KICK THEM OUT IF THEY ARE LAZY! DONT WASTE TAX players money!
OK. If BAM axes all the elite back-up players, who will play for the 3rd MS in Thomas and Sudirman Cup? aiya... just walk over... lor... BOLEH?
