few surprises in the MS 1st rd.. Taufik Hidayat withdrew after trailing 15-5, 5-15, 0-8 to Sergio Llopis (Spn).. also out the much controversial Hafiz Hashim, out in straight games to Shon SM..

Taufik definitely a surprise. sounds like an injury. if it is a serious one that could cost him the Olympics. it seems that the hectic schedule of the Olympics qualifying year is starting to take its toll. there was Camilla with the ankle, and now...

    Hafiz not really a surprise.

Anders Boesen lost to Agus Haryanto in straight game... Xia XZ struggled again, beating Asuncion (Phi) in rubber... other established players have no problem advancing bt the record for the fastest game probably goes to young Park Sung Hwan trashing his opponent 15-0, 15-0 in mere 10 mins... also showing impressive form is Kenneth Jonassen... kudoz...

agree kwun.. didn't expect him to advance anyway... a little something i heard frm a m'sian friend, the best way of showing displeasure when asked by your coach to end a game to your fellow country-man advantage is, losing really badly but perform quality play (gaining services back easily but losing easy points thru unforced errors)... sounds familiar aye??? no offense to hafiz's fans out thr...

just a theory here since its in Korea. Taufik plays first match, the line judges cheat AGAIN, then the Indonesians get pissed, cause sony and simon apparently withdrew also.

Why would the line judges do that? Taufik's opponent is not a Korean?

I wonder why there are many KGZ players in the main draw, and ther were all fed with a pair of glasses.

comparing to the results today i think there is some we can add of the list of favourites some has been beaten and some were in 3 sets. The only ones who are left and has a chance of winning : Chen Hong, Lee Hyun Il, NG WEI, Peter Gade, Kenneth Jonassen, Lee choong Wei, Bao Chunlai, Shon Seung Mo, Wong Choon Hann, Ronal Susilo,Chen yu. But some of the other favourites like Xia Xuanze was in a 3set match, and I think he is playing very bad at the moment. Sony lost and Taufik lost, Boesen lost. So I think that Bao and Gade are the favourites, but look out for Wong.
