I wouldn't be surprised if Boe/Conrad would be the one going to Tokyo instead of Astrup/Rasmussen.

But Boe and Conrad need to step it up. They are 49 in the ranking while Astrup/Rasmussen are 9 in the BWF ranking list. So....

I think BoeCon is better than AstrupRas. and meeting HanZhou again probably wont be difficult.

R2 and upwards, their chance to go OG is higher. Doubt AstrupRas can be consistent.

the rank wont really matter. BoeCon just needs to be top 20 to be choosen imo

They still have time. If Astrup/Rasmussen can't defend their points while Boe/Conrad keep gaining more.. a possible scenario.

LC/HKX looks like already the second best CHN pair.

always tougher playing against new pair, they seem to have motivation. But after a while, they will be jaded like HanZhou or LeeWang.

Hopefully they could go far this tournament. Tomorrow will be a true test when they face Du Yue / Li Yin Hui since they are at the same ages, while the chinese pair have tasted so many high level tournaments since junior.

Because it is not that big upset. Lee Zii Jia has massive potential and is already matching many top players.

Just want to inform, as I have spoken to Akane Yamaguchi this morning. Her back injury is healed. No back problems any more. However she is having a problem on her right calf muscle. Just want to clear the situation, as she is not having a knee injury. Hopefully she will soon be back on her feet and ready to fight for honours.

LZJ has earned himself a rematch with Momota since losing to him at the WC. I expect LZJ to give a better fight this time but lets see.

Looking at tomorrow's line up. Why is Kim/Kong vs Chen/Jia on court 3?

At least minions vs Fajar/RiAn is on court 2

I can confirm what Hassefar is saying. Jan Ø Jørgensen was sick prior to China Open and did not travel to Changzhou. He then travelled directly to Korea Open and arrived on Friday or Saturday as far as I am aware. He is in desperate need of all the points he can get. Have to try to catch up with Viktor and Anders to qualify for Tokyo.

Managed to catch part of the Liu C/Huang KX vs Endo/Watanabe match, the CHN MD pair is playing well, better than I expected.

There is one more thing we really need to clear up. in Doubles, a nation can maximum get two entries into the tournament per category, if they are in top 8. Let's use MD as the example. SHOULD Astrup/Rasmussen qualify and Boe/Conrad not qualify, It's Astrup/Rasmussen who have earned the right to play, not Denmark. In this case Denmark can't replace Astrup/Rasmussen with Boe/Conrad. Should Denmark chose to drop Astrup/Rasmussen, that place will go to the next pair in line and not necessarily Boe/Conrad.
Another scenario. Let's take WD. Japan is having 3 pairs in the top 8. Let's assume Japan can squeeze in Tanaka/Yonemoto as no. 8 and make it 4 pairs in top 8. That will only give any other nation 4 spots to fight for. Because it is the ACTUAL ranking that counts, which means (as it stands today) four pairs from Japan + Chen/Jia + Lee/Shin + Polii/Rahayu + Du/Li. Then the ranking get "cleaned" for pairs not eligible and two pairs from Japan will be dropped.
I sincerely hope this is making sense. I am not the best in explaining matters like this.
