Badminton: Koo-Tan to cut down on Super Series meets this year

    http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2010/1/4/sports/5406535&sec=sports

“In view of the preparations for these four major events, we will cut down their participation in Super Series tournaments,” said Rosman.
“Koo-Tan attended 10 of the 12 Super Series events last year and it had an effect on their physical condition towards the end of the season.
“The elite pairs will probably be looking at not more than eight Super Series tournaments this year. We will go for quality instead of quantity as they also have to focus on the preparations for the more important meets.

Hmmm, KKK/TBH has a good record against MK/HS, but MK/HS has better record in 2009. They have 4-5 record against CY/FHF according to limsy, so I do think they stand a fair chance, even if they have to push past both pairs. MB/CM and LP/JR should not be a major problem, except that they might get pushed to 3 sets.

I meant the latest about this combination. (That's what this thread is all about;)) Furthermore, 1 of the 'Dominant' pair is there but then crash out in the 1st round because of the injury to LYD as reported. That's why they don't have a chance to play against KKK/TBH.:p

Relax and enjoy your chinese new year 1st before thinking about all england:D

Conclusion is: this combination works very well during the MAS Open. As reported in Thestar also, that victory in stadium putra meant so much to our md coach, Rexy Mainaky :)

Meanwhile, do study the trends, not just KKK/TBH & their main opponents but also the younger pairs. This year looks interesting, cos I think the normal trends not being followed, it'll keep changing, then only exciting.:p:p

    Kkk & Tbh

It has become a torture to watch them play... They are not even 25 yet and played like 30+ uncles. Never bother to move their feet. KKK even constantly finds chances to sit for a while.

And seems to me KKK has gained much weight since AG2006?

KKK is done. TBH is still curable. It would be nice if TBH can pair up with masters like Tony Gunawan for a while -- it would be a shame if such a talent got wasted.

I notice that too....KOR pair always plays 100%, as fast as possible, same with CHN. Koo/Tan just kind of walk around and chill out...defend too much, too many trick shots. Tan got too tired smashing in CHN open 2009, but LYD was still smashing til the end....and this was after 2.5 hours of badminton. It's disappointing to see them so lazy.

Yup. As i said before already , consistency and determination is 1 of the issue here.

Just look at the koreans style of play.. full of determination and well discplined. fighting HARD for every shot no matter what. I'm not saying koo/tan is not like that though. But if u watch these 2 pairs play, u will noticed the difference;)

Attitude in a match is the main point here......sadly, kkk is having a wrong one,....but there's a slight improvement in this department lately....hope they keep improving.....;)
